Let's face it: people have made some big mistakes. If you could go back in time, what would you change?

Simple, I would sink the 3 ships Columbus sailed. Or I would show up on that beach a day early and warn the villagers that strange men would arrive on the shore tomorrow - Do NOT be nice to them, they will kill you all.
I'd go back and prevent my grandfather from molesting my little sisters. Then I'd rule the world.
I'd find myself in high school , sit myself down, look myself in the eyes and tell myself: "What your feeling isn't abnormal and it isn't your fault. It's gender dysphoria. You aren't a boy, and the harder you try the worse it's going to get. I am the woman you can become once you stop hating yourself and hiding from your dreams. I love you."
I'm a Christian and I do support your realization that you were not the gender you were labeled at birth.
Nothing. In history because the end result might be worse than it is now, and in my own life because as painful as tons of things in the past were, they led me to the most perfect partner I could ever hope for, and I would not risk never having had him. Simple as that.

I would have not gone to school the day I got molested
I would get out of the toxic relationship I was in and still struggle with way sooner.

I would go back in time, dig up all the dinosaur fossils, knowing where to find them and all, and carve 'Thorfin Wuz Here" on all of them and then rebury them. Teehee!

1. Kick Adolf Hitler, every person that made a movie or book that a dog dies in, Osama Bin Laden, Jack the ripper, Kim Jong-il, Heinrich Himmler, Joseph Stalin, and John Wilkes Booth in the balls and then throw him out the window when they were baby's. And 2. save John Lennon, John F Kennedy, MLK Jr, and Abraham Lincoln.
I like that list! As long as it didn't change the person I finnnnnaaaally became. Footnote: That's still happening, by the way! Im changing and hopefully growing.

I mean some things are like to learn to say no to (about to be) sexual abusers I called “friends” in elementary school. And to not listen to a child’s solution to a problem I had at home to “just lie about it” now i cant even tell the truth without the impulse to lie…………i need help
I understand way that happens. I'd like to share something, I started doing this. From this day forward ( day was about 15 years ago) no matter what, I will not lie about anything. Telling truth is very freeing. Even if its something unflattering about myself.
i wulve gotten me an IEP sooner, i was told at four i was to " smart" to have autism and only got my IEP in ninth grade. It would have saved a lot of trouble and tears if i had gotten it sooner

- Aforementioned said rebellious groups switching ideologies from "get the USSR out of here" to "let's be super f*cking mad all the time" once the USSR falls
- Al-Qaeda, one of the previous aforementioned said rebellious groups, crashing planes into the World Trade Center
- The Middle East being bombed into tuna paste due to wars caused by Al-Qaeda crashing planes into the World Trade Center
- China becoming the world's first intergalactic empire due to communism and being allergic to high school students with shopping bags
- North Korea threatening to nuke us every 2 seconds
- Ham and Banana Hollandaise, along with the rest of those disgusting 1950's cuisines, existing
- People build buildings out of something else other than raw cubes of concrete that fall apart within 10 months
If 8 had a time machine, wouldn't that make me immortal? If so then I would go to the start of humanity just to watch us progress through time.
I'd warn my parents to re-arrange the money transfer to the bank. Would save our family from banckrupty and debt and a close family friend from getting shot and bound to a wheelchair.
I'd also try to convince my mom to go to the medic more often, so she discover the cancer sooner.
I would go back to 15 years and tell myself than I don't really want kids!
Also when I would kill Osama Bin Laden I would also stop 9/11 and save millions of jews when I kill Hitler
it's difficult to say whether by the death of a singular person whether history would deviate in a major fashion. Indeed, killing Osama may lead to more crafted attack than even 9/11 just like the void of Hitler might've led to more radical Nazis like Strasser and others.
I would take a hi-res camera back to the Jurassic period. and record all life on earth.
Prevent the assassination of Czar Alexander II. He was a reformer, and if he had not died in 1881, Russia would probably have continued to progress ethically and socially. Maybe if he had lived to a ripe old age and died of natural causes, Communism would never have taken root in Russia, and we would never have had the Soviet Union.

One idea might be to seriously remove Hitler's father from his life. He was a brute who beat and humiliated the child Hitler and his mother terribly. I'd find out what started my brother's alcoholism. That moment when he thought that climbing into a bottle was better than living a sober life. I always thought he would have done so much more if he hadn't given into the demons. But his addiction destroyed his kidneys and cost him his life.
Just to change that one moment might have meant he'd still be here.
I would go back and tell my mom to not put me on the school I was for years (mobbing, bullying, abusive teachers) then I would tell my self to learn when it is neccessary and to make more friends and go to more partys. You only life once and I wasted soooo much chances...
Show my dad what happened to my older sister and me after she told me everything that he did to her. Hopefully he would treat my older sister like an actual human being rather than a crusty piece of s**t stuck on his shirt.
I would go back and have one more conversation with my dad. I love you daddy ❤

I would catch myself before I got to involved with my past crushes. My first one humiliated me in front of 50 people who posted it to social media as she laughed in my face, the second one vanished off the face of the earth, the third one suddenly turned on me and a "boyfriend" she later dumped appeared literally out of thin air caused me and her and all her friends to fall out, the fourth one twisted my words and actions to make me look like a sexual pervert and turned the remainder of my friends against me and kept pressing her attack until I mentally broke and now need professional help I can't get and the fifth was a nice rejection finally but it still left me pretty damned sad. That's the short version btw
All my other problems span over 16 years now like having no friends in school ebcause people would come up to me daily to assault me and try to break my arms and legs and anything else they touched, destroyed my medical supplies, caused me to be alone and hated all throughout my school life and basically turned me into a psychopath for a few years until I met my first real friends in college where I started turning my life around. Which is the same friends Crush number 4 took away from me, causing me to be almost alone again. I have a rare few who have stuck by my side
All in all, I want a peaceful happy life with no more pain please. I'm struggling enough to cope as it is

But that's the fun of it! Once you go back in time, you're no longer bound to the same continuum, you can mess with it to your hearts content! We live in a multiverse, so you can just bounce around until you find one you like!

there would be no christianity - the whole point of his "godsent" nature was proved when he came back to life supposedly, so without that there, a new form of islam would probably have conquered european religion

I'd tell myself not to take out ANY credit. I think it's ridiculous that credit cards can be given to 18 year old kids that have no money sense - and I'm still paying off the debts I got myself into with cards, loans and overdrafts. If only I had have saved that money instead.

I would have tried to stop climate change before it got this bad by raising environmental awareness.
As admirable as that sentiment is, people WERE trying to raise environmental awareness for a LONG time. So...I don't think doing the same thing over again would make a difference.
In my own life, I would never have let myself discover gacha on YouTube. In world history I would have tried to make sure Hitler was accepted or whatever made him "evil" in the first place never happened.

I would make sure that there was only a small range of wealth before developing advanced technology.
Mine is a bit more complicated, but I would arrange for Besarion Ivanes dze Jughashvili to fall into a snowbank and die from exposure while on the way home from the tavern in the winter of 1879. I invite you to do a little exploring and see if you think the absence of this alcoholic who brutalized his wife and son would likely change the future.
If not Stalin, would be somebody else. These kind of people rise to be leaders, because the social-economical circumstances of that country allows it. You should change those circumstances, what makes happen a sociopath to be leader.
I'd throw an entire box of spanners into the historical works and give a list detailing every disaster leading to the Late Bronze Age Collapse to all the cultures in the Mediterranean, along with suggested actions the people could take to avoid it or lessen the impact - since it led to the Greek Dark Age (1100-750 BCE) and a setback in social and technical progress for western civilisation.
I'd go back and try to tackle fear. To socialize and hangout more with others back when I used to be in school. As I grew up with social anxiety and missed out on a whole lot.
I would tell my 14 years old self to be smart and change schools when I have the chance, and I'd tell all my bullies to f*ck off, I hope they sort of grow up and regret their actions when I'm not there to be their scapegoat anymore, they will miss me much more than I'll ever miss them, it's their loss and not mine. Take us back just a tad pre-industrial and leave it there. Different pace of life, advanced enough not to be archaic and just ahead of setting our current downward trajectory of over population and pollution. Not without its problems but on balance, I reckon we'd all be happier.
I would go back to the old Egyptians and leave an iPhone in King Tutanchamon's tomb
