I heard they can. They can detect when we are upset. Can cats chave that ability too as this doggie did?

I was just talking about this, and yes they absolutely can tell when we're upset. But that doesn't necessarily mean they'll do anything about it. I have 2 cats, but I am especially close to my cat Cinder. She's not very clingy, she likes her space and so do I, but when my sister died, she cuddled up next to me for a week while I laid in bed. I've noticed when I'm upset, she'll curl up next to me. Just a few hours ago, coming home after an especially hard day she hopped one, nuzzled against my face, groomed my hair, weird but thanks kitty, but she seems to know when I'm upset. My other cat, who is generally very clingy and affectionate seems to retreat when I'm upset. I don't know if she's scared, overwhelmed, whatever, but I definitely think that cats can feel when we are distressed for whatever reason. How they will respond is a different thing, but they are attuned to our emotions.

My old cat did. She would come up to me and nuzzle. But if I wasn't consoled she would attack my head and bite. Apparently this is a normal cat behaviour that is not understood by humans.
