Lately I read all these negative comments on Facebook and other social media about, mostly American, employers. Horrible bosses, working overtime, not getting paid well, harrasment etc. Is it really that bad? Are there good bosses/managers/employers out there? I want to hear your stories!

I live in the Netherlands and have the best boss in the world!

No, not all of them. It really depends especially on what type of work you're doing too. A lot of things boil down to improperly trained management. The larger the corporation the more you'll see this. There's also a difference between corporations and franchises which was mini-corps but the same problem exists. The more managers you have above you can heavily weigh on how you're job goes. Poop rolls downhill and a lot of management holds that philosophy to heart and pass it on.

If you get a good manager, who can balance job expectations while understanding their staff has lives outside of work and those lives are a bit more important than their job, them you'll have a good manager.

All of that being said I love my company but we're a contract company. So every contract is different and the supervisors don't get a lot of the training they need. I've heard horror stories from people at other contracts who've come to work for me and are shocked I treat them like people. One of the first things I tell everyone during training is 'If I try to call you in on your day off you can say no, don't hem and haw me, say no so I can call the next person on my list. Those are your days off and I'm not going to count that against you.' It's sad I have this say that and people get shocked when I stand by it and don't bully them about it.

As far as health insurance goes I have it and my company offers it to anyone full time but it's not the best. My people get PTO but that's because the client demanded it, it wasn't company provided. I give my people time off when they request regardless of if they have PTO, I can't pay them if they have none but I can give them the days off regardless.

Personally I've had a mixed bag. I don't tolerate bad management since I've been a manager for a good chunk of my life. I've only ever walked out of one job though and I've had my fair share of jobs.

Mines not great but much better than most. I get paid well, I get promotions, bonuses and awards and have gotten at least 1 raise every year which usually out paces inflation. I make almost double what I made when I started 5 years ago.
