So this happened a while ago and my mom and I are "okay" now. I just wanna know if I did something wrong.
I (13) had my period two months ago and had to change. Now for background, my mom (48) went back to university this year. She does it online and we compromised that I can have our computer in my room and she gets to use it. The day this happened she had an exam and had asked me to not disturb her. Originally I decided to just wait until she was done with her exam to change (I know... says a lot about her). But not wanting to marinate in blood I walk up and knock on the door, quietly first but then louder. It went like this:
ME: "...mom?"
MOM: "WHAT."
Me: "Um so (I explain that I need to change because of you know what this month)"
MOM: "UGH fine just come and get it!"
So I grab stuff and change. Later that day she said she didn't mean to make me feel bad and was sorry. I accepted it and we're good now but the problem is while she meant it, she also apologizes for getting mad at me and my sister for dumb stuff and doesn't tend to when she thinks she is in the right. I'd go on, but I'll explain more about my home life in perhaps another post. This is a secret account she doesn't know about! Keep it that way pls!

Funny enough she used to do biology or biochem for a job. It wasn’t really a fact of her not understanding periods just stress from her exam. Obviously doesn’t excuse her though lol
I mean I apologize if I'm short with someone during that time of the month, but for simply having it? No, NTA, what's the alternative? Taking birth control pills all the time? That can't be good for you long term.

From a fellow 13 yr old, Girl, you are in the right! You are NTA! It's not your fault when you get your period!! Honestly, I think your mom was kinda TA, for reacting the way she did after you explained your reason for coming in.
Periods are natural and a pita especially when they manage to soak through everything. You needed to change, NTA. Your Mum is also human and was probably a) focussed on her exam b) a bit stressed. Both of you were trying to manage sharing living space in less than ideal conditions.
Sounds like your mom was a little grouchy, are you sure that your not the one get mad about dumb things? You clearly know you didn't do anything and your mom apologized, so why did you have to post this? I think the "AITA" posts are stupid because you should be able to figure that out by yourself.
