Bored? Help Me With The Global Passport Experiment And Take A Stand For Equality
Dear bored people,
please help me with the global Passport Experiment and take a stand for equality.
I just started my Master studies in Communication Design wherefore I am working with patterns and ornaments on the subject of globalization.
At the moment I am collecting the patterns inside of passports. They will get transferred to ceramic tiles, where they create a big mosaic containing as many nationalities as possible. The message is, that all people are equal and nationality doesn’t really matter if you see the whole thing.
And this is how you can participate in the project:
It would be amazing if you could send me a high quality scan of a single page of the inside of your passport (booklet). I need no personal data (no stamps, names, numbers)!
The mail address: passport.julia@outlook.com
Make sure to choose “high quality/print quality” or 300 dpi or more in your scan-settings.
With your help, maybe I can connect with one person of each of the 206 nations on our planet. Its an experiment of global digital networks.
If you like the idea, feel free to share this with your international friends to let the project grow.
Under the following link (always updated) you can see from wich nation I already got a scan of their passport:

The result will be sent to everybody who took part and messaged me.
Thank you for your support!

Ornaments as storytellers
Ornaments are able to connect between different culture, tradition and time. They are small parts composited into a whole thing.

We are all connected, are we?
Also the humans on our planet are small things in a whole. We have different nationalities, but we are all the same. We are all connected, are we? Is it possible to contact one person of each nation on our planet?

Beauty is in the detail
The different passports that stand for our nationalities have amazing filigree patterns and ornaments. Here are some examples:
Armenia
Estonia
Indonesia
Luxemburg
Switzerland
Let it grow
Everybody can take part and let the project grow. Check the list to find out who is still missing and just send a scan of your passport or help with sharing and networking.
The ornaments of the passports will be put together to create a big mosaic and everybody who messaged me will get pictures of the result.
