Not only for myself, but also for you.
I am here, because I want to share my work with you.
I live in the Netherlands, a small country in Europe. But I have been travelling all around the world, to meet people from different countries and cultures. And what I see, is that we are all the same.
In my life I have been a teacher, and therefore in contact with a lot of young people. What I miss in the school system, is perhaps maybe more valuable than what they teach you in school about math, language etc. Don’t get me wrong, this is also important. But I miss the education about getting to know oneself. Who are you? What are you doing here? What is the reason you are here, on this planet?
And, as from my perspective of being a woman. What does it mean to be a woman? What is my connection with my womb? What can she tells me? How does the world we live in, think and see how we have to behave as a woman?
These questions I explore, by creating Goddesses. Even though I do not have the answer for you, maybe my art can help you to find your own answers. I am here to point a direction.
I create because I miss something very important in this (western) world. There is so much knowlegde hidden about womanhood. And it is time to unfold, to spread knowlegde. To love yourself, no matter what. To love your sisters, and not only your family, but all woman. Because we are all connected. And it is so so so important to support each other!
Even more in these times with so much anger and hate, towards one another. People with different backgrounds, with different cultures, different lives that are unfamiliar with us.
