Aced it! Nice to know I'm still up on my classic kid's literature. And yes, Pan (the god) appears in The Wind In The Willows chapter "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn". It's a very weird chapter that sometimes get cut entirely.
Illustrated "Tom Sawyer" and "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" was a 2 volume set in our house, half a century ago. I could not tell you which drawing (or which plot) belonged to which actual book.
