For Christmas 2013, I made my first 2 gingerbread houses. I had so much fun making them! Then in November 2014 I posted the pics from last year and ended up with 9 people wanting them for Christmas. I had an extreme amount of fun! Bring on Christmas 2015! This series of pictures is my gingerbread village from start to very end….
I have a time lapse video on YouTube of the decorating process…..well worth watching!

Let’s start with the basics
Boards, piping bag, pure icing sugar…just the very start
Still getting ready!
All gingerbread made from scratch. I ended up having to make 9 lots of gingerbread
Only SOME of the lollies I needed!
I actually used about double this for all 7 houses and 2 sleighs
Baking begins!
I baked every night after work for almost a week!
Still baking!
I’m telling you, having to make your own everything for a construction is quite fulfilling!
Reindeer
I made some reindeer for the sleighs, turned my back to open the oven, and the thought of going into the oven, they pooped themselves!
It’s a construction zone!
Oops, looks like I’m missing some pieces! Better bake some more.
Ohhh look! An IKEA flat pack gingerbread house!
All I need is an Allen key!
Construction begins
Took me a while, but I finally found a good use for my wine glasses.
Village takes shape
Stage one of construction complete!
Still building
And some tenants have moved in. My houses are like mini piñata’s.
Some more construction
Each hous is different!

Amazing
My gardeners are worth it! All completely edible.
Starting to take shape
The village is beginning to look presentable!
Safety first!
When working on a construction site, one must always be safe!
