Artist Paints Geometric Art Along The Grain Of Discarded Tree Slices

Jason Middlebrook, an artist based in upstate New York, creates hypnotizing paintings that combine contrasting media – discarded wooden slabs and paint – into beautiful works of art.

Some of his pieces loosely follow the grain or natural rings of the wood, while others ignore or conflict with it. All, however, use unnatural colors, which he uses to explore mankind’s relationship with nature.
