I've cooked whole meals for my family of 10 (now 11 since I've had another sibling) when I was 12. Standards are so low anymore. On average I make 1-2 meals a week to help mom out and I'm not quite 16.

This is just sad. This is why kids go to school and cuss at teachers and disrespect adults in general. Because of parents like these idiots who instead of disciplining for such disrespect, celebrate and make fun of it, and make it seem normal and acceptable.

I have been bullied, but I believe that bullies are people to and they make poor decisions with their behavior. By giving negative reinforcement to a child who bullies, just makes them feel more alone and would most likely increase their bulling.... But if they are just psychopaths than I could agree with your comment. Just saying. 0.o

Arrogant, presumptuous and patronising. I'm a psychotherapist, but I don't expect automatic trust on that basis. More importantly, I'm just a common or garden adult. Punishment - even shaming - can be an act of love, as long as it doesn't end there. Giving a child food for thought, especially when he or she has been cruel to others, can be liberating, especially if that child properly digests that food for thought and is rewarded and praised for making amends.

What's the big idea? If you sit two children in the back of a car, it's not like they automatically get along because they cannot get away from each other. I would have gotten so pissed, if my parents had made me wear such a thing, and I am perfectly certain it wouldn't have solved the disagreement.

I never had to since my parents didn't start doing to until recently but my mom would make me and my brother hold hands until we could get along. So very similar. And we also hated it and we'd fuss and fight more afterwards to show mom it didn't work. it never changed her mind but eventually we changed ours and it became a game to see who could go to the side of the house that they wanted 🤣

In Italy you can be youger. Bars are of many different kinds: they won't serve alcohol to teens, but they are allowed to stay. Depending on the hour, the season and the location, bars can be places for mature people, teens or whole families with kids. Is not strange to see a bar for of old men during winter, becoming a place where teens eat sandwiches and franch fries between 11.00 pm and 02.00 am in summer. Expecially in a place with a low rate of crimes.

I think this is the child telling her parents to ask for permission to eat the cereal. Obviously she didn't buy it. Good parents in taking her piggy bank money and allowing her to buy and then set the rules on whom can consume, now hers, cereal. I be damn my child tel me what I can and cannot consumer after I work, go to the store to find and then buy anything.

I think this is the child dictating whom can consume the cereal, obviously she had yet to "buy" the cereal until her parents took the money from her piggy bank. I be damn if my child, in this fashion, dictates whom can consume anything I have worked for and paid for. Completely different if the child specifically asked for something to be hers, but even then the child would need to have a specific reason or work a little more for what they are asking to be only theirs. Nothing in this world is free. The sooner anyone realizes this the better. I'd have done the same thing or worst. I would have had a huge bowl of it in front of the child when they got back from school. Bahahaha

I saw a video about this a few years back. I guess she was a repeat offender. She was soliciting sexy photos from guys and pretending to be old enough to have a relationship with several men. Her dad lost his s**t. He went on her FB and told everyone she was a little girl and by no means was any man supposed to contact her. They took away her internet. Then they find out she has another account and is accessing it through a friend. These parents tried literally everything before shaming their child. It's not a funny matter to be flirting with older men. She had plans to meet with more than a few of them. Some of the men even knew where she lived. I say what the parents did in response was mild compared to the situation the daughter had gotten herself in.

All I know is that I used to eat a lot of paper scraps in elementary school (I had to bypass the no-gum policy somehow!) Knowing my childhood self, I'd pick a chore from the selection, do it... then eat the evidence to make sure it never happened twice (at least if it was one I particularly hated).

The problem isn't with the child or the shorts; the problem is with the people who are sexualizing a child. If it's hot out, let them wear what they want– yes, this includes "short shorts" and (gasp!) even swimsuits. Or is there a problem with a child wearing a swimsuit to a public pool as well?

You really gotta love this generations thinking "where whatever you want girl!" "Who'll he wear dresses too?" Lmao. No one ever stopped to think about the girls age. 15 and under there's no problem with the parent saying "honey I really think that's inappropriate" after all he provides her water, food, shelter. It's absolutely amazing these comments. "It's societies fault, it's not the shorts it's the sexualization". I really fear for my gerneration, there is no more decency. The question is NOT sexual, it's DECENCY. How you present yourself is how you will be perceived. Again no one took into consideration the girls age. Perhaps if parents took a viable interest in how their children present themselves like they used to which is possible without being horribly oppressive and still allowing self expression without self deprivation the youth would have more respect not only for themselves but also for others.

OMG, calm down! The kid lost the mouth piece of his instrument, which means he plays an instrument, does an extra-circular activity that takes time and dedication. I'm guessing you are just giving grief to a kid who already has too much pressure on him.

I play trombone and the case has a nice pocket made just for the mouthpiece. There is no excuse ever to lose a mouthpiece because your case has a space for it no matter what instrument you play. If this was my kid I'd be mad too.

So in 1975, my best friend's big sister was grounded on Valentine's Day but snuck out (as was her habit) anyway to meet up with her boyfriend. The parents, sick of this, locked the door, thinking she'd knock or go next door, sleep at her bff's and do a walk of shame home the next day. They heard her give a yell late that night but she didn't come in. Next morning, her dad found her dead in the back yard with a knife in her back (took nearly 40 years but the creepy-stalky-boy next door (*not* the boyfriend) was eventually charged after a cold case team found new evidence). TL:DR - do NOT punish your kids in any way that could compromise their safety. My friend's folks had the rest of their lives to punish themselves. http://www.seattlepi.com/local/article/1975-murder-case-no-longer-cold-1259510.php

I'm thinking the behavior (the liquor) is the bigger issue not the photographic evidence. Also how is internet shaming them teaching anything? Well besides teaching you can and will act like a d**k.

Yeah, no. Parents don't have the right to steal and destroy a child's property. EVER.

Why people are so butthurt over shorts? It is piece of clothing and is meant to be worn.

I don't want men staring at my teen's bum while we are in the grocery store because she's wearing short shorts since "they're so cute". It's bad enough that society over sexualize women, let's not start them early. Good for you dad!

If men are looking at young girl's bums that is THEIR problem not the young girl. Men can wear whatever the hell they want aND we don't ever ask them to cover up. We are sexualizing girls and women's bodies by telling them to cover up!

Thos goes out to ALL TYPES OF HUMAN: What you wear around the house is nobody's business, but when you step out in public, practice this thing we used to have called common courtesy. I love short shorts, so I'm not trying to be a hater, but this sense of over entitlement and thought process that it doesn't matter how you present yourself in the real world anymore is juvenile.

Shorts are cute. If any male parent has a problem with it because they view it as sexual, guess what - it's their problem - not their daughter's!

I feel bad for this student, they're just trying to study for the SATs, but they can't find their notebook, and their father can't really do anything about the situation.
