New York Times bestselling author Nathan W. Pyle (previously here) looks like the kind of guy who has endured one horrible job interview too many. Mainly because his ongoing comics series "Nailed It" perfectly captures the hilarious tension between the interviewer and the interviewee and everything that it produces.

Once i said NO to my boss when he asked me to come on weekend, and when he asked the reason for it, i said coz I have a weekend job as a cat-sitter! He never asked me to come on weekend again! P.S.- I later found out he was afraid of cats!
Now that's playing it safe. Who knows, you could be the Willard of cats and really mess him up...
Load More Replies..."Do not argue with a stupid person. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience." --Probably Mark Twain, though I've seen it attributed to different people.

Well if it was for a vets office you would be in for sure. I ended up with 5 cats and 4 dogs, and a pregnant guinea pig when my wife got a job there. Luckily we got free boarding and cheap prices on everything we needed to take care of them. So it all worked out in the end.
Load More Replies...This is such a dumb question. The answer is because you need an employee and I need a job. I mean, YOU'RE the one with the "help wanted" notice.
They're looking for a reason to hire an employer who is knowledgeable and experienced, not just any shmuck who sits for an interview

LOL This one is brilliant! I am so going to use this if I ever happen to look for a job again.
well you will definitely not get the job but at least you have a Snicker waiting for you
Load More Replies...I was asked where I saw myself in five years. This is such a stupid question - who knows what's round the corner? I had a really great job, then my mother became ill and needed full time care. My whole future changed! How you see your life and what happens purely fate.
Very much in agreement with you. That is a question that was probably useful in older days. Now every darn thing changes so rapidly.
Load More Replies...Now, I really don't Blame HRs for these questions, it's there job to ask these questions after all. Yes, they should or they can change the questions or change the methodology of whole HR interview, but guess what - those people are not getting enough paid to take all that pain, they have books, and they go by them. Don't Blame them. I am an engineer and i don't blame them, Never!
Thus ones a beaut! All the big companies and even a couple smaller businesses have asked me this but it cracks me up because yeah, it's like asking how something as far away as 5 years? Get outta here with such obtuse bullsh!t
I agree. Stapler guy form Office Space is a prime example.
Load More Replies...I will bring myself and a dog so every body can pet him and get in better mood.
Or those might be 42 reasons not to hire him
Load More Replies...Most job interviews are just outdated, unnecessary and sometimes stupid. If a company HR asks me a lot of questions such redundant questions like "name a weakness" or "tell us about a time when you succeeded in something", that 's a signal that the place is run by an old fashioned and stiff administration. In this case I feel uneasy about working with such an obssessed mentality. Another point that shows this is nonsense is that HR know most interviewees forge answers just to please the company. Where is the truth in this?
Yeah but they still keep on asking these questions! :/
Load More Replies...I've had every single one of these questions in most of my job interviews, and I noticed they just follow a protocol without actually listening since they already decided on your cover letter and your looks wether you made it...
I once was in an interview where we talked about F.R.I.E.N.D.S for good 10-15 minutes.. and yes, I didn't get that job :-|
they should have told you the job was gonna be this way 👏👏👏👏
Load More Replies...Love this! Jobs interviews are actually quite depressing stuff, let´s lighten that up!
Once someone ask me - Do you even know where does all the taxes you pay Go? I replied - Yes, In HR salary!
Hilarious- I've heard all of these and can definitely relate! What a hoot.
I was asked numerous questions in my 1st interview. I was called back a week later for a 2nd interview and answered more questions. They called me two weeks after that and offered me the job. I had already taken a job with another company. I told them they waited to long and needed to change their interview process. Do they think we don't go on numerous interviews with various companies? I told them it was their loss.
Better luck that me. I was getting calls for interviews three months after I had been hired at my current employer.
