My Hoarding Of Old Garage Sale Christmas Junk Finally Paid Off. My Sister Turned It All Into This Masterpiece
Now I'll actually look in the basement the next time I go to an estate sale ... I've passed over thousands of Christmas ornaments for pennies. I don't own one thing that's a "Christmas/holiday/festive" decoration ... I would display this piece. It's stunning.
I Thought This Was Beautiful. A Person In My Apartment Complex Was Throwing It Out And I Grabbed It With A Smile. It Is Wood And Extremely Heavy. I Will Be Polishing It With Orange Oil Later. What Do You Guys Think? Good Find?
Looks like an Indian / North African (Moroccan / Algerian) screen - A light rub down and clear varnish (a few layers) will bring it up better . Good find, and shame on your neighbour for wanting to get rid !!!
Shame on them? Tastes change, maybe a gift, who knows, but shame?
Load More Replies...This is sooo amazing, definitely would want one of these in my home!!!
wao. walnut wood carved screen from northern areas of Pakistan. really valuable. sad the guy has no sense of value of it.
So, why is it in this section? It's not a funny sign, it's a beautiful find.
Wrong thread - this is about thrift store finds, not funny signs. Funny signs is another thread: https://www.boredpanda.com/funny-signs/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter

Have you seen the ad for Match.com, where Hell is matched with 2020?
Load More Replies...Bored Panda reached out to the Facebook page's team and a representative told us that many local thrift stores have now actually moved to online ordering during the Covid-19 pandemic. "Some even have curbside pickup, so we recommend checking with your favorite stores to see if they've done this," they suggested what we can do in order to stay safe but keep our secondhand shopping habits intact.
Meanwhile, they pointed out that secondhand fans should use social media to keep track of their fave shops and what's new with them while also avoiding going to shops physically without knowing if you'll find what you want. "Following your favorite shops Facebook pages is also recommended so you can stay up to date on what they're doing as well as get quicker notice when they have sales, new items listed, etc. That way you can safely thrift from the comfort of your own home while still supporting your local shops."
So This Happened Today.. I Work For A Major 2nd Hand Store In Australia, This Morning While Opening Up The Store I Stumbled Across The Corner Of This Woodburning Sticking Out
Immediately I knew it was my mums who i lost way back in 2005. I didnt even need to see her signature. So this is 29 years old and i couldnt tell you when i saw it last, closer to 91. Also im about an hr and a half from where my mum lived her whole life. My birthday was just 3 days ago and i definitely feel this was her saying happy birthday and giving me the gift of something she made. I feel so lucky and am pinching myself still.
I found an old victorian photo album in a thrift store that had caught my eye. I picked it up...and there were 2 pictures in it. They were both of my deceased Grandma!! I had asked her that very morning to show me that she was with me. Your mum was definitely giving you something she knew you would cherish. They are around us in spirit.
My Grandma Spent Years Collecting Broken Pieces Of Jewelry From Family Members With The Hope Of Creating A Jewelry Christmas Tree
When she got too frail to make that dream come true, she gave me the box of jewelry. After she passed away, I finally sat down to create her dream. I remember her wearing some of the pieces and playing with some of the others as a kid. My husband thought it was fitting that the back of Grandma Dorothy's "D" pin was the hardest to remove as she could also be humorously stubborn

Previously, Bored Panda spoke with the Weird Secondhand Finds team all about how the thrift store and secondhand shopping industry has shifted because of Covid. According to the Facebook page team rep, the number of people buying things this way stayed more or less the same in Autumn, but how things are done have changed quite a lot. There’s been a rise in digital shopping while physical stores are taking more and more safety precautions.
“We've noticed that more people seem to be using online venues for their thrifting rather than going to physical locations, which given the current circumstances, we think is great. Thrift stores also seem to be embracing the option of going online just a bit more than they did previously,” they told Bored Panda. “We encourage people to stay safe and use precautions if they do decide to go out, and we do not allow posts that show people not honoring precautions, such as not wearing a mask or with their mask pulled down while out in public.”

My Beautiful Find On The Facebook Marketplace! I Could Not Love It More!
Part chaise lounge (chaise longue for French speakers) and part telephone table. Congratulations - it's gorgeous!
I used to own something like this. They are called "Gossip Tables" I believe. This one is super cool!
Load More Replies...My Mom, when I was in my teens, use to collect Green Stamps, if anyone knows or remembers those. She found a Telephone Chair made like this one, but the chair was gold with a silver design. And the legs were metal. Very sturdy too! This piece reminded me of hers. This is awesome!
Meanwhile, physical stores require customers to have masks on, have erected plexiglass protectors at registers, keep the fitting rooms closed, and have a hard limit on the number of people that can be inside the store at one time.
“Perhaps the biggest change is in the 'bin' type stores where they have had to significantly decrease the number of bins in order to allow for social distancing, as well as create a path for customers to follow rather than being able to choose their own path like they could previously. It's a lot less chaotic than it used to be at the bins,” the Weird Secondhand Finds team member explained.
I Love Stained Glass And Found This Piece In An Antique Mall. It’s My House Number!! Installed It On Our Front Porch
I Just Found This On The Side Of The Road. I Guess Out For Trash
One of my favorite things in Germany was junking day. People would put their 'junk' out to be perused or trashed. My parents got a 1930's working radio in a display case.
Carwful. If the box contains a wooden mask with Norse runes , Don't put it on.
I would never bring that into my house. I swear I would open one of the drawers and a soul someone sold to the devil would come out and try to murder me in cold blood. Like no thank you. *Walks away*
My Grandmother Made This Many Years Ago. She Passed In 2012 And It Is Now In My Uncle's Possession, But He Sent Me A Photo And Hopefully It Will Eventually Be Mine!
It's one thing I really looked forward to seeing at Christmas every year. It even has pieces that actually belonged to family members, including a boy scout pin from the 40s
The Facebook group started out as a page for family members and friends to share the goofy things they found online. Eventually, the page grew immensely and the wholesome community began to take form.
It’s not just about fun, though. The Facebook group has brought the discussion about shopping secondhand to the forefront of social media. It’s something that’s positive for your wallet, for your community, and for Planet Earth. Without the stigma attached to it, secondhand shopping is a great way to spend your time. Just remember to put your hazmat suit on. Or shop online!
My Teenage Daughter Was Walking Through A Thrift Store When This Great Curved Mid Century Blue Couch Came In The Door
She sat down on it until the manager walked by to find out how much it was selling for. It was over the amount she had in her pocket so she sat on it until her sister came with the rest of the money. My daughter wanted to surprise me for Mother’s Day! When we went to pick in up the next day, the manager was so moved by my daughter’s gesture that it brought her to tears!
As i'm sitting in a large blue - albeit rectangular - couch: it's beautiful in your home!

I Ran Into This At A Yard Sale And I Had To Have It For All My Crystals. What Do You Guys Think. It Came Home With Me
I believe that it is called a "secretary." My mom has one in my old bedroom/guest room.
Very nice secretary - Art nouveau, 1920's, looks like mahogany. Don't refinish it to death. Just clean it and leave it alone.
Be wicked careful with that curved glass door. It's expensive to replace. I have my mom's curved glass china closet, and wish I found this gorgeous piece!
Anyone know where this was at? My parents used to have this and I'm curious if it would be the same one.
Got This Amazing Shelf, With A Lamp Yesterday At An Antique Store In Buffalo, Mn. I Plan On Repainting It. Not Sure If I Will Do It All One Color, Or Make It An Alice In Wonderland Theme
I'm getting motion sick just looking at this. I want so much to like it.
Doesn't help that the picture itself is tilted. It probably looks better in person.

My Grandmother Passed Away Years Ago And I Was The Only Grandchild Who Helped Clean Out Her Home
I had just turned 16 and didn't have my own place for furniture or large pieces, so I chose this ring. It sure doesn't look like much now, but my Great Grandfather gifted this to my Grandmother on the day of her high school graduation in 1950. She earned a regence scholarship to go to college, but turned it down to get married and have a family. At 36, I still wear it almost daily as it reminds me of the amazing, stubborn, loving woman I got the pleasure of calling Grandma. I took it to a jeweler who told me it is cherry quartz and is so worn it has little value (don't care, I won't ever get rid of it).
I feel like he told you that to try to get you to sell it (or give) to him. I bet it's rare and worth more than he let on. Besides the fact it's priceless to you. (It's gorgeous btw)
I was a jeweler for the better part of 50 years. I'd strongly suggest you take it to a geologist - perhaps someone at a nearby uni./college. It would be good for you to know what your G grandfather really gave your grandma. Jewelers will purposely undervalue pieces if they are interested in a piece for themselves. Also, not that badly worn down.
It looks more like a strawberry garnet... I inherited one similar to that from my mom... it was very popular in the 30s & 40s
I actually like the worn look of this ring. To me it says that this was a special ring that someone enjoyed wearing.
Although Quite A Few Of The Items In This Picture Were Obtained At Thrift Shops Or As Gifts, The Bookshelf Is One Of My Favorite Finds From Fb Marketplace. It Was Handmade And Needed A New Home. It Was Free And Now It’s Mine!
At one point I'd got around 10,000 books and I'd read all of them at least once. When I moved to Sweden I couldn't take them all with me so donated about 9000 to local libraries, including several valuable ones and all the libraries were incredibly happy as I had a lot of rare books they hadn't seen before. 20 years later and one librarian still keeps in touch. About 4 years ago the library she works at was struggling to stay open. Costs were going up and their income wasn't keeping pace and she wanted to say thanks for the books and that all of them had been very popular. I suggested that if they still had one of my valuable rare books that it was ok to sell it. A few weeks later I got a letter saying thanks, the library would stay open as they had gotten enough from the museum that bought it to pay for 5 years worth of costs. Sadly then covid happened and they had to close and I've not heard from her since. I love reading!

Sooo I Grabbed This Guy From A Man On The Way To Dump With Him!!
Sooo i grabbed this guy from a man on the way to dump with him!! Seems he used to be a dancing Santa but the electrical box was sent to dump and didn’t look like it worked. He is a great shape!! Just a few cobwebs and dirt lol. I was soooo happy to get this! I followed the guy to dump and said heyyyy can I have that? He squeezed Santa into my small trunk and now I am a proud owner of a wonderful black rare Santa
Our neighbors have been placing a black Santa outside since we all moved in 22 years ago. It was a huge blessing that I was able to raise my kids while they saw how Santa represents those he visits - a simple, perfect lesson that served them well and still does.
We need to protect the rare black santas, they are an endangered species
If he's anything like my dancing skeleton...press down on both of his shoulders at the same time and he should pop up (about five feet total height).

This Was My Grandmas Teacup, When She Passed It Was Given To Me. When You Put It In The Light You Can See A Woman's Face In The Bottom. Does Anyone Know Anything About This Cup?
My uncle brought a whole tea set with the geishas from Japan in the early 1950s. I was told by a China expert that they were “tourist” ware, not particularly valuable or rare. My teapot has a dragon swirling around the pot with its mouth as the spout.
Lithophane Geisha https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/78828-japanese-geisha-lithopane-lithophane I've looked this information up years ago, and found that there were six different Geisha's that were the Madonna/Lady Gaga's/rock stars of their day. Geisha's weren't prostitutes as was commonly believed. They were skilled entertainers & performers.
I was told it's called "dragonware". My mom had a whole tea set, but I don't know if her's had the portrait. I have several pieces in "grey". I think there are a few different color variations.
I think these tea sets were popular with GIs, who brought them back home for their moms after WW2.
Moriage Dragonware or sometimes called Dragonware Moriage I think the ones with the hidden geisha are called Lithopane
you do know they arent asking Bored Panda right? this was all lifted from somwhere else.

My “New To Me” Vintage Restored Vanity. Found On Facebook Market Place
This has been seriously altered from the original. It's a Waterfall pattern dressing table. The veneer on the outside is gorgeous mahogany - the idiot that painted over it deserves a smack to the head with a dead salmon, they completely destroyed it. The hardware was replaced as well - alll of the handles should be brown and gold Bakelight.
I wish we could see the before; it could be that it was severely damaged. I have a small waterfall side table from the 30's that was fantastic except for the top veneer (not a surprise). I took it in for professional refinishing and, boy, good thing I got it for free, because I PAID for that refinishing.

Can You Believe Someone Was Giving This Away For Free On Marketplace? It's Going In My Science Classroom If It Will Fit
Update: It did not fit through the door... we had to remove the center post of the double doors and brought it into our library. It would not fit through our classroom doors. That's ok though, it is now in a place where everyone can use/reference it. The key and information on the arm is written in German and it still has the USSR on it, so it is definitely rather old. I added some photos of us getting it in the building and some of the damaged parts. Update 2: Came out to my truck at lunch and found the note I attached as the last image
I'm honestly not sure if it's THAT old; the font strikes me as rather modern although tbh I'm not an expert on that matter. It definitely can't be new - there's also a 4-digit zip code which Germany replaced with a 5-digit zip code in the early 90s. Apparently the USSR also broke apart in the early 90s, so I guess that puts the age of the globe to at least 30 years. Certainly old, but the description made me think that it would have to be much older. Maybe I'm just getting old myself...

It is beautiful but I'm calling into question her grandmother making it. It's a ceramic tree and they were very very popular in the 1940s and 1950s. My mother has one similar that my grandmother purchased in the late 1940s
My grandmother made one of those in the 50's as well. Apparently the tree was a popular ceramics class design that people made. I'm guessing they probably had the trees pre-made or something. We still put it out every year.

This Chair Has Been Identified As An “Hstudio Moon Chair.” I Paid $125.00 From Gw
The ottoman is from Target from a few years ago. Had some requests for more pics of the room so I added some to this post. I wanted to share with you my crazy find at a Goodwill store in Sterling, VA a few years ago. It’s a purple suede-like chair that is the length of a couch. It is sitting in my living room as it won’t fit through any of our hallways. A great conversation piece in our home.
I was mesmerized by those goddess drip fountains as a kid. I also had a tiki themed living room. We have such good taste in decor!
When I was a kid I thought those wax drip lamp were the height of sophistication! The whole vide rocks.
My friend's grandmother had one of those statue/lamps. They are soooo cool. You put oil in it and it heats up and cascades down like rain, yes?
Ooh - I live in that area and now need to check out the Goodwill store in Sterling!
My Grandfather Passed Away Suddenly A Week Ago, So I’m In The House He And My Grandmother Have Shared For 60 Years To Celebrate His Life. The Back Bathroom Had This Spectacular Wallpaper On It For Most Of That 60 Years; When They Remodeled It A Bit, They Kept Pieces And Framed Them. I Adore This Wallpaper And Figured You Guys Would Too!
I Bought A Hideous $2 Basket Solely Because It Had These Adorable Keychains Attached To The Handle!

When I Saw This 6 Piece Set Of Plates, I Saw My Grandmother, And Cried A Little
Stomach cancer rendered her allergic to a whole host of foods, but she said that was her price to pay to beat cancer. Anyway, I swear she was a wizard because as a child I had never seen a single person put ham in scrambled eggs!! I always craved her magic breakfasts. She would use real eggs for me, and egg beaters for herself. She had these same plates. I can remember the sound of the plates being placed on the counter, the way her spatula scraped the plate when laying down the magic eggs. I remember the fabric of her robe with the satin trim, the smell of her perfume, her perfectly placed hair, and the way the sun came in through the windows while she cooked. We would sit together and have our breakfast with big smiles on our faces. For some reason, I never remember her using these plates for dinner, those were white with a blue Victorian scene along the trim. She passed in 2006, but I know she comes around everytime I get a whiff of her perfume. For $7 I snagged the set. I may just make magic eggs this week, and possibly cry again.
Corelle lasts forever. That pattern is between 40 and 50 years old—-late seventies to early eighties. You can’t break those plates. I have a set myself—-I have shallow fingerprints, which means too smooth hands, so things slip, and glass breaks. On top of that, dishes get washed in slippery soap. Double trouble. And that’s why I love Corelle. Best investment I ever made.
Yes, they are hard to break but, boy, when one does it shatters into A LOT of little shards! I have had this set for close to 30 years and we got it from my husband's grandmother. In all those years I have broken 2.
Load More Replies...Tap the larger plates with a toothpick and it is the exact pitch of the railroad crossing near our house where I grew up. My sister got the dishes after Mom & Dad died and I said "What does this sound like?" "OH WOW! The railroad crossing!!" Yup. I know.
Your story made me tear up thinking of similar memories with my own Grandma, who also had these exact plates.
We have a collection of mismatched odds and ends of Corelle that my husband and I bought separately many years ago and only have a couple pieces each left. We have at least one or two plates with this pattern, too -- I always like them because when he makes something with a lot of sauce, the rim keeps me from splashing it out of the plate!

Well It Finally Happened
Well it finally happened. The Facebook marketplace find of my entire life. I went in thinking it was a coffee table and it is not. It is large. I was going to pay 100 dollars for it as a coffee table. I could not pass it up even if it doesn’t have a very appropriate space in our apartment. All of the different wood shades are pieces cut to fit perfectly together, the bottom of it says “Maitland Smith hand carved in the Philippines” I’m OBSESSED. Cat for size reference

I Found A Deck Prism At Goodwill In Cottage Grove, Or! I'm Not Sure If It's An Original Or A Reproduction But This Sucker Is Heavy! For Those Unfamiliar, A Deck Prism Would Be Mounted Flush With The Top Deck On Ships And Would Allow For Light To Be Cast Around The Interior Of An Otherwise Dark Interior Cabin.
It could be an original. When I was a child and we'd go to the Oregon coast for vacation, people were still finding original Japanese glass fishing floats washing up in the morning. I could easily see this prism surviving from a wreck off the coast there. It's fabulous!

My All-Time Favorite Secondhand Find!
My all-time favorite secondhand find! I am a HUGE Disney Nerd and collect anything vintage Disney, but my favorite is vintage Lady and the Tramp memorabilia. This Lady and the Tramp skirt is from 1955 and has been a holy grail I have wanted for years, but convinced myself I would never personally own one as they usually go for $600 to upwards of $1000, depending on condition. When I happened upon a full, uncut set of pristine panels at a flea market, I absolutely freaked out. And then I about fainted when I saw the price tag- $20!!!!! I have never bought something so quickly in my life!!!!! I am convinced this skirt and I were just destined to find each other. My mom is a seamstress (and an amazing one at that ) and she helped me assemble it into the gorgeous, whirling, 16 panel circle skirt it was always meant to be! I treasure my skirt so much, but I definitely also wear it and enjoy it. I feel like after sitting unfinished for 65 years, it deserves to be loved and worn where other people can see it and enjoy it too! These pictures were taken last Christmas at Disney World. We are moving to Florida in a couple days, and I hope next Spring I get to fulfill my dream of wearing this little beauty to Dapper Day at the Magic Kingdom!!!
It is so cool when destiny steps into your life! I can see why you love it!

Wow, stove polish? This was used back when stoves were cast iron and had to be polished regularly to restore the finish and keep them from rusting. I'd guess this was from the 1920s or maybe 1930s.
this. you may know it as cream of wheat (except, that name only makes sense once it's cooked). it's coarser than flour.

Farina is sort of like cream of wheat. A fine textured "oatmeal". Hot ceral.

Tw: Fertility Struggles
My husband and I had a hard time getting pregnant. I have quite a few chronic illnesses and was told that it would be difficult to get pregnant. After a few years and a surgery that would have the added effect of increased fertility, we had decided that we were going to stop trying and save our money to adopt. I was set to see a specialist regarding a health concern out of state, but found out 2 weeks before that we were expecting our miracle baby. Since teenagehood, I wanted a nursery for my baby with the theme "Oh, The Places You Go!" by Dr. Seuss. I saw a photo of some delicate hot air balloons. I set out on a journey to find tatted doilies, and boy, was it tough! I lucked out at one antique store in Meridian, ID, who had boxes in storage and was considering donating them because they were not selling. The clouds are innards of some old pillows, the frames for the clouds are old lamp shades, and the baskets are handmade from jute that I stole from my mom. ETA: she is 18 months old, now

This is called an "escalier de maitrise". Back in the day, there was a guild for carpenters. To enter the guild you had to make one of these that would be judged by master carpenters to see if you are worthy. Once you joined, you would be an apprentice until you made another "escalier de maitrise" that proved you were now a master of the craft. Because this was a test, all of these stairs needed to prove your level so they would be very intricate, very detailed, mix different woods (and usually push the limits of what that wood could do, like bending one that is more sturdy or using a bendable one as the supportive beam...)...
PS: they now make these in Chine so this one is probably not an antique since that would not be abandoned on the side of the street but still a very cool find!

I've Searched Every Goodwill/Thrift Shop For Years For These Kind Of Little Wooden Ornaments From My Childhood Tree. My BF Found Them On Ebay,a Big Box Of Them For Sale And Surprised Me W Them. I Cried Like A Baby! Does Anyone Else Remember These? I Was Born In 82,but I Know They Are From B4 Then.
They are from the 60s I have one on my tree. It’s the only one that survived all these years.
My daughter born in 77 played with these toys growing up. They were called little people.
OMG my mum owns a whole heap of these - they were my childhood ornaments too! I should ask her where she got them from - her own mum, probably!
I was born in ‘75 and I remember that somewhere in the ‘80s my Pop bought a bunch of these. He said they were made by people with special needs, so he wanted the whole set in order to help out. They were really cute! I lost them in Superstorm Sandy along with everything else.
I think my mom still has a bunch of these that were always on our tree.

Well lets see...you can't expose it to bright light or water so I suggest burning it...preferably in lava. It'll really get the nasty stuff from it :)
I wash "rescued" stuffed animals all the time. Put him in a pillowcase, tied at the top, or in a mesh lingerie bag. Wash him in your washing machine with cold or warm water on the delicate or hand wash cycle. You may want to add a few other non-linty items to the washer so he has some cushioning. If you have Woolite, use that; if not, regular detergent will do. Alternatively, you can hand wash him in a sink with laundry detergent, rinsing well. You can either let him air dry for a couple days or dry him on low in the dryer, still in the pillowcase. I probably would air dry because his large eyes might get dinged up in the dryer. Nice find; enjoy!

I bought it for $10 and brought it home and then immediately called my mother to ream her out. I started with, “I can’t believe you got rid of that” and “why wouldn’t you have asked? Of course I wanted it” but she had no idea what I was talking about and assured me her beloved picture was still in its rightful place. A short drive to her house confirmed that it was, indeed, undisturbed. As it turns out, the artist liked how it looked so much that he made several copies and sold them, never anticipating a second one would ever end up in the same small town across the country. Let alone that the daughter of the original model would find one. Now we both get to enjoy this cherished piece of art. Sooo I Bought A Set Of Booths From A Baskin Robbins From Marketplace. New Kitchen Table!
ngl I can totally see myself having one of those when I'm older; possibly remodel it a bit, and maybe buy a jukebox but have the playlist full of songs from like the 2000s - 2020s, then once that's all done, I can treat myself to a strawberry milkshake while I sit on my very own diner-like table. Would anyone else wanna join? :)
I would join you if we could play showtunes and I could wear a poodle skirt :)

It's an early form of a boucey chair. The way the metal is curved would cause the bassinet to bounce once you pushed it down
A.baby.launcher? Wth is that for? Why would you launch a baby?
Found At Goodwill. Multitasking At It’s Finest.
Yeah, that's about it. There's a set of glass "party trays" that float around my family that are about like this: space for a cup of punch, a small plate for hors d'oeuvres or finger food, and a cigarette holder on the corner. The glass trays we have are from about the 1950s, but this one looks more recent than that.

Mrs. Potts! I Loved Finding This Costume. She Did Not Come Home With Me. It Was An Adult Costume And Was Great Quality And Very Heavy! Found At Goodwill In Spokane Wa
I love thrift stores, you never know what you’ll find. BUT be careful buying used or older sofas and arm chairs, always inspect them and check for bed bugs sometimes they’re hard to spot and can be hidden. We made that mistake once. We brought home a used arm chair and we ended up getting bed bugs in our home. (And it seemed clean on the surface) It was a disaster and I’m scared to ever buy used furniture again, unless it’s wood.
Yes! And cockroaches, depending on where you live. My friend got an old 2nd hand TV years ago that was infested. Luckily TVs are flatter these days so hopefully harder for bugs to live inside, but just be careful what you buy.

I think it’s 30-50 years old not sure exactly. Good condition and we looked on eBay and they were all selling for $400-$500. I would love to share a pic of it.

They brought the other out and both fit like they were made for me, not to mention that they looked like they had never been worn. I almost fell over when the lady told me they were $25. But wait, there’s more…I got a 10 senior discount so paid $22.50 for them. Saw an ad in a magazine for this exact boot about a month later and they sell for $850! 20140808_0...3c1d13.jpg
These are my favorite threads on BP! I'm a lover of thrift shopping. Almost everything I own is "used" but I think it adds to its charm. :)
why are all the words in the titles capitalized? (English is not my mother tongue, I don't know the rules ...)
It's just standard for all words in titles to be capitalized. There are exceptions, like if the font is all capital letters, or the short/unimportant words are not capitalized (at, the, of, etc.), unless they are part of a name of something, or if they are the first word in the title. However, some choose to capitalize all words, even the short/unimportant ones, like what BP did here. As far as I know, neither version is necessarily correct, it just depends on the person's preference. Although there are probably some people out there who will insist on one way being correct, but at least to me it doesn't really matter.
