Full Moon Service: Photoshop Master Erik Johansson Reveals How He Created His Newest Masterpiece In 8 Months
Photographer and Photoshop wizard Erik Johansson creates mind-bending optical illusions that make people question reality. He has already revealed some tutorials but recently Erik has decided to present a behind-the-scenes look at how he produced one of his instant classics, an image titled Full Moon Service.
The fascinating 3-minute video follows Johansson from the absolute beginning of his project to the final shot. The production of this single image took about 8 months, and everything started when the artist sketched one of his ideas onto a piece of paper. He then moved to creating and buying props (for example, rice paper lamps, light bulbs, an electric generator, a van, and more). Finally, Johansson shot the base with a Hasselblad H6D-50c and did his magic in Photoshop CC 2017.
“Although one photo can consist of hundreds of different images,” Johansson writes on his site, he always tries to make them “look like it could have been captured.”

Share on FacebookThis is awesome, I am a photoshop user and I really like those people who gives me an idea to edit an amazing realistic picture.
I really like this photo and this is when photoshop is used perfectly. It's not a cheesy, unbelievable picture.
I went through and watched all of his behind the scenes videos. This man makes the most amazing thingsI've ever seen!
this guy has the most impressive photoshop skills I have ever seen, and not just that but the imagination and creativity too. God.
Seriously I don't get it... Why he didn't make the tools for the photo right from start? This would have saved a lot of Photoshopping.
You mean models? Have you got any idea how long each would have taken to make? Plus, he might just be awesome at Photoshop and c**p at crafts...
Load More Replies...I wonder why they have gone through all the trouble of using so many physical items and being physically there. Why not photoshop everything?
Because the final result is usually far more realistic when you start with actual photos, than when you create everything from scratch. Also, if his main specialty is photography, it would make sense for him to approach it from a photographical angle (personally, I would too).
Load More Replies...You got to understand them moons! You wouldn't want to show your dark side to the world either. ^_-
Load More Replies...This is the kind of creativity that they should show everywhere! I love it!
Absolutely brilliant! If you are going to edit pictures this is fabulous! I love it.
I have no words to explain your concept of art and putting it to the reality on print. Excellent one with warm regards, Suresh Khaire, Vadodara, India
