These two kittens were part of a litter of 4 kittens. When they were born, all 4 kittens were rejected by their young mother. One of the kittens died on the way to our house. The other kitten died 20 hours after they arrived. These poor things had been without food and warmth for TWO days. They were starving and hypothermic when they arrived .

We went into action rapidly. Making KMR, getting them inside our shirts to give them body heat. We were determined to save all 3. Sadly, we lost the littlest one.

Every two hours day and night my family and I bottle fed them. We stimulated their bottoms so they could relieve themselves with warmed wash cloths. We took them to the vet when they became constipated. We changed kitten milk to one that has more fiber in it. We had them dewormed.

And they grew and thrived. And they opened their eyes and ears. They began to play , at first in their laundry basket , with our fingers, then on the floor with our toes. They learned to walk, and to use the litter box. They became real kittens. And how we loved them.

My family invested our time, our money and our love into these two beautiful little kittens. This week, they turned eight weeks old. They were each adopted by 2 different families. They are now cats who are in loving forever homes. My heart is filled with joy that we could do this, and we miss them terribly.

Please, for all that is good, spay and neuter your cats! So that young female cats don’t have babies that they reject.
