Damsel flies. So pretty.

Holly blue. Had quite a few fluttering around my garden earlier in the year.

Meadow brown. Wide population spread across Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia. My local parks are full of them.

Painted Lady. This little creature has the most amazing migration of some 7,500 miles from tropical Africa up to the Arctic. They fly at around 30 mph and are so numerous they are often spotted on radar. How incredible are these wonderful butterflies.

Hoverfly. Good for gardens as not only are they pollinators but munch on greenfly.

Small Copper. Seen often in late summer, early autumn.
