When Briggs LocHaven and his brother Chris Vanness were driving from Arizona to Colorado late last month, they spotted two puppies left on the road in what the men described as ‘literally the middle of nowhere’. “At first we thought they were prairie dogs, until we got closer and were able to see exactly what they were,” Vanness told The Dodo. “Then we stopped and got out of the car to check on them. They were friendly and severely dehydrated and starving and our hearts just sank. We didn’t have to capture them — they literally jumped in our car.”
He added: “Over the next 24 hours, we continued to feed them in small amounts… After about 10 hours they started to become more active and needing potty breaks.” The pups continued their journey with the men until they reached the final destination. Once they arrived, the brothers contacted their friend who rescues dogs and asked to help the pooches.
“They both have found an amazing home and family with [another] rescue dog! And they get to stay together!” LocHaven wrote in an update. “Makes my heart warm and happy!”

So glad you guys ensured they got adopted, and didn't just give them water and keep on moving. Odds are if they are in the middle of the desert, someone dumped them there, and left them for dead. So thankful you guys found them!
Who The F**k leaves a dog in the middle of desert? If you don't want the dog at least give it to shelter... I'm glad they didn't walk off like others would.
So glad they helped those puppies! But I do want to let people know, there are WILD dogs in Arizona. There was a pack of Chihuahua's and terriers running around in Big River the last few times I have went there. So if you are in Arizona, and you see a couple dogs, maybe a pack, be careful they can be mean. Id rather them not be there like any one else, I'm just stating a fact. All puppies and dogs deserve a good home <3
A wild, mean chihuahua. That's an interesting concept.
Load More Replies...Great people! And people with tattoos rock! Just shows people can't judge them! Too bad they can't find who did this and dump them in the desert with no food or water!!
As friendly as these puppies acted, it's unlikely that they were wild. They look so adorable, I doubt I could have turned them over to anyone else! Bless these two men for rescuing them!
