Heartmelting Pics Of Aging Dogs Show Them Grow From Puppyhood To Old Age
Photographer Amanda Jones has been taking dog photos for twenty years. The Massachusetts resident was inspired to put together this photo series of dog portraits, Dog Years: Faithful Friends Then & Now, by her dachshund, Lily, who passed away during the making of the book. The book features before and after photos of numerous family pets along with comments from their owners.
“Some adorable puppies don’t seem to age at all, yet others show the signs quite openly in their eyes, their jowls, and their gray hair,” Jones told the Daily Mail. “It is this semblance of ourselves and our souls in the old dogs’ eyes that gives us such a deep connection with them. One thing that remains constant is the love people and these cute dogs have for each other. That does not change, no matter how many dog years go by.”

Share on FacebookSo beautiful! They teach us so much about love. Animals are much closer to God/Truth than most people.
They are so beautiful, young and aging. I do wish they lived longer :(
They're such beautiful photos that my eyes seem to be leaking a little.
The only thing that makes me sad are the cataracts in Lily's eyes. All the babies are sweet and aging is just part of the process.
No matter if young or old, you can see the love they fell in those eyes! Just Beautiful.
I have a soft spot for senior dogs and cats. My own dog lived till 13 and cats were 17, 18 and 23. No matter how long they live, it's never long enough.
So cute!! That last picture is especially sweet and reminds me of my own. I wish I had some pictures that are of such good quality like these ones. My pup is nearing 14 now and old age is affecting her hips pretty badly, I don't know how much longer she realistically has left. Using an Ortocanis rear support harness has made our day to day more manageable, but even so it's really difficult to see her suffering. I found it online some time ago -http://www.ortocanis.com/en/technical-helps-for-dogs/23-rear-support-harness.html - and it was a God send. I've got to take some more pictures of her ASAP just in case!!
Even though your post is a year old, I do hope your furbaby is still with you and doing okay...
Load More Replies...Beautiful, happy & sad all at once.. The black labs & the doxie make me miss mine (aged 15 & 12yrs), even years later.
It's amazing to see that some of them look even youger than before, and that others look like too much whashed clothes... still all soooooooo cute
These photo's are great! I never considered that dogs would end up with gray fur just like us humans! Nice spread. Kudo's
Heart-melting. My Shar-Pei - Low Wan - is 14 and she looks great. Her dad and her twin sister lived to 13, and her mom crossed the Rainbow Bridge much too prematurely when she was 6. I cry for them to this day!
heart-melting.. My Shar-Pei is 14 years at present. Her dad and her twin sister lived to 13, and her mom crossed the Rainbow Bridge when she was a mere 6 year-old! I still cry for all of them!
I wish our dogs would live to 50 years at least.....but were healthy and not sick or had cancer problems...........we lost 3 Rottweilers to Cancer at 6 1/2 years of age all within 6 years........loyal, great, loving dogs they were.
