Dog Stole Neighbor’s Ribs & Nobody Saw It. What Should I Do?
Last weekend my dog Ginger scratched at the back door to get in & when I opened the door she tried to walk in dragging an entire rack of expensive uncooked ribs. Ready for grilling. Somebody must’ve set them down, turned their back for a few minutes, & she gripped them & ran off. So I discreetly look around & see smoke coming from the backyard of my neighbor 2 doors down. So that’s where she got ‘em. I’d gladly repay the guy for the ribs but I know that wouldn’t be good enough for this guy. He’d expect me to go back to the store & bring back a rack of ribs & wouldn’t be satisfied if I gave him twice as much as the dog stole. So I don’t know what to do. It happened last weekend & apparently nobody saw anything since I haven’t had any phone calls or visitors so I think ginger made a clean getaway. What would you do?

Idk maybe just bring him new ribs and tell him it's bc you heard he lost his?
I know I’m 100% at fault & no doubt ruined his cookout. He would have a temper tantrum if I told him & would no doubt demand some punishment for my dog (even though it’s my fault for letting her run unleashed). And he’d hold it over me forever. But you gave me the solution: a $50 gift certificate at the local meat market sent anonymously. Thanks. (Everybody on the block has a dog so he can’t be sure which one it was).
