Trudging through life isn't easy, but it's especially difficult with depression. "What's the point?", "I'm too tired" and many other thoughts are constant companions of a person who suffers from it. And from time to time, this whole situation feels hopeless.

Despite how it looks, one needs a reminder there are bad days, some things about life just suck and that sometimes depression is so ridiculous, one can't help but laugh at it. And this is what the James of No Trades comic is all about. Yes, life sucks, and sometimes there's no reason why we feel so bad, but we're not the only ones who feel that way.

While people are more aware about depression than ever, many might not really know what it actually means. It comes from a latin word "deprimere" which means to press down. It makes a lot of sense in the context of this mental illness, as people suffering from depression often describe it as a feeling of being weighed down.

The symptoms of depression are many, and it's often difficult to trace them back to the mental illness. Though having these symptoms doesn't explicitly mean that you have it, it might help you bring awareness. Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness and hopelessness are pretty standard with depression, and so are angry outbursts, irritability or frustration. But there are also a few sneaky symptoms like slowed thinking and speaking, or physical pain like headaches or back pain.

Having previous paragraphs in mind, we would like to remind you that internet is not a great place for diagnoses, and we've all been to that rabbit hole where we think that we have cancer when in fact it was just a flu. If the list of symptoms made you suspect that you might have depression, you should firstly consult with your doctor or licensed medical professional.

Long, long time ago James' comics made it to Bored Panda. It was a great success, and you can find it here, if you want to revisit them. And as always, we have plenty of comics that you can pick and choose from on our website. Let us recommend you some. Here are some snappy comical punches by Ryan Mason. And these comics are all about wholesome goodness of having a soulmate. And these comics by Pedro Arizipe are quite random, but not any less funny.
