As a kid, I always listened to classical music with my grandma (on vinyl). I sort of hated other kinds of music. When I was 8 or 9, my parents got me "Mozart was here" on CD for Christmas. That's the first part of a German series of radio plays about famous composers to introduce children to classical music in a light and playful way. I was blown away and got all of the following parts as gifts over the next years (like "Roll over Beethoven" or "Viva Vivaldi"). That's also when I decided to learn the piano. In hindsight, it was the greatest gift I ever got. But of course I was bullied by my schoolmates, the weird kid that only listens to "Schwuchtel Musik" ("faggôts music", no pun intended). Since then, I broadened my musical horizon veeeeryyyy much and I love all kinds of music, but classical is still my first love and it has given me an approach and understanding to music I'm certain I wouldn't have without it.
