Street artist David Zinn‘s (previously here and here) chalk creatures have been inhabiting Ann Arbor, Michigan since 2008. David calls himself an “inveterate doodler and a shameless word nerd” and uses art as a problem-solving tool. What are the problems he solves? Sad-looking street cracks, unappreciated blooming flowers, boring sidewalks, and other urban features that could use an additional sprinkle of happiness. David’s light-hearted creatures are small-scale but high-charm, and have earned him 180,000 followers on Instagram.
