Merino Wool, Mohair, Tiger Eye Stones, Recycled Fiber Fill
Cassiopeia is a meditation on movement, light, and transformation. Named after the ethereal jellyfish and the constellation gracing the northern sky, this piece explores the duality of fluidity and permanence, the earthly and the celestial.
With its slow, undulating drift, the Cassiopeia jellyfish embodies softness and adaptability, mirroring the healing rhythm of breath and water. In contrast, the Cassiopeia constellation, fixed in the cosmos, represents myth, endurance, and an eternal glow. Together, they reflect a tension between movement and stillness, the ephemeral and the enduring, offering a space for reflection and balance.
This piece evokes warmth and healing through its interplay of texture and color. Wool and mohair yarn create a tactile softness that invites touch, while a gradient of colors mimics the organic shifts of light seen in deep-sea creatures and distant nebulae. Tiger eye stones, known for their grounding energy, are embedded within the fibers, channeling a quiet resilience and protection.
Through Cassiopeia, the body is enveloped in a gentle, pulsating presence—an invitation to drift, glow, and heal.
