I Burn Movie Characters Onto Wood

Who knew that using the heat to make pictures on wood would be so fun!

I am Rick Merian and the art I do is known as Pyrography, or wood burning. I had been drawing mainly with color pencil and charcoal for many years, and up until a few months ago I wanted to try something different, so I picked this up and fell in love with it.

I’ve always loved drawing portraits of animals or my favorite characters, so my inspiration mainly comes from tattoo artwork and just watching movies.
