After My Dog Died Last Year I Swore I Wouldn’t Ever Get A Pet Again, Until I Started Taking These Images
My dog Mustang was my son. Last year he suddenly passed away. My husband wanted us to get another pet so that our daughter doesn't feel the loneliness we were all feeling in our hearts. But I couldn't bring myself to loving another pet like I loved Mustang. We were obsessed with him. He was our life and suddenly with him gone, I felt like no one could understand the pain and loss I felt as a mother.
When Mustang was alive, often my clients would come home with their newborn babies and request that I could take one shot of their baby with him. He was such an adorable dog, everyone loved him.
So when he went away, I started to photograph babies with other furry creatures... it was my way to deal with my loss... or tell myself that in some form, he is still around.
Taking these images have helped me heal and we are soon going to bring home two wonderful puppies and one of them... we will name Mustang.

That is Mustang in the picture. One of my clients came home once and requested that I photograph their baby with Mustang cos she fell in love with Mustang when she met him.
This remains extremely cute until mama duck returns to feed all four ducklings.
That lace and the BEAUTIFUL baby with cutie puppies capture my heart! 💖
SO BEAUTIFUL! Gotta show a young couple expecting their first child!! 💏
That is another image of a client's baby with Mustang.
If you are so bothered with it Judith, then just don't look at these pictures!!! You can either be the one that looks past the shadows and sees the cuteness, or you can see the negative side of things and keep it to yourself. There is no need to keep saying these things when we have all seen them and are just trying to enjoy the cuteness!
Actually, it is not such a big health risk. I had two cats before I had my daughter. I let them touch her when she was just a few days old. My doctor said that had actually boosted her immune system. By the time she went to school, she got the usual childhood illnesses, but so very much lighter than her friends, who had not grown up with animals. Don't listen to "friends" opinion, ask your doctor.
Presence of furry anuimals boosts allergy immunity. I know from experience ;)
Load More Replies...the floof is off the scale for these. in fact, they may need a new scale.
I know how you feel about the loss of Mustang. My wife and I had a similar tragedy and I cried (literally) for months. But your new dog deserves to be him/herself. Don't burden him/her with Mustang's legacy. Give him/her his/her own name. We did and we are glad we made that choice.
I know the feeling. Some pain just can't be explain. The loss and the emptyness. So sorry for your lost of mustang.
The ducks areva touch of whimsy, but nothing beats a dog! Keep up the photos- yoi havebabgood eye!
I'm so sorry about Mustang,he looks just wonderful. Your photos are exquisite. Please keep it up. The ducks are a touch of wimsy buy nothing beats a dog!
We all live, we all die.The choice though is how you spend your life. A photographer shares stunning photos of new life, human and animal and all some of these comments show is that some people see nothing except the misery and negativity in their own souls and make it their mission in life to suck the joy out of everyone and everything the come into contact with... puppy mills, negligent parents exposing their babies to dangerous animals, fragile animals exposed to germ laden human babies. YOU are the danger with your determination to see nothing beautiful in life and spread your miserable mindset as far as you go, like a virus. A reality check is much needed for you misery mongers. Choice to see the beauty and be happy or choice to dwell in a toxic crud of negativity. I choose beauty, happiness and a smile upon my face each day of life.
Sorry for your loss, I still miss my baby every single day, even after 2 years
Yes, these are beautiful photos and the connection between human children and animals can be magic. But I worry about these pictures...what happens to the chicks, ducklings, kittens and puppies after the shoot? I do a lot of work with animals and see many instances in which domestic animals are abandoned in the "wild"....rural areas, city parks. They are not capable of surviving, especially as juveniles. I would be deeply saddened and disappointed if these beautiful photos just exploited the animals. Good news she will adopt a couple of puppies, but what about the rest?
stunning photos, but....adopt, don't shop. Over half of all purchased dogs from breeders also end up in the shelters, not just mutts and pit bulls. I hate it when people purchase new dogs when 4 million animals every year are euthanized. gah.
