I fist heard of Azuma Makoto and saw some of his actual art works in an article I accidentally stumbled upon a week ago. His art made me feel goosebumps and I asked myself how come I’ve never heard of him before? There is a pretty good chance that many of you are not aware of his talent, so this is what it is all about. A tribute to his incredible talent and his bizarre approach to organic matter. Azuma Makoto thinks that nothing lasts forever and all is temporary and he tries to capture the beauty of organic matter in its relatively short existence, and do it in a variety of different circumstances, even in space. His project Exobiotanica made him the first man who sent a 50-year old Bonsai tree into space, accompanied by a bouquet of exotic flowers. His works also include projects like Iced Flowers and Leaf Man. Most of them involved his buddy and photographer Shunsuke Shiinoki, who also did an amazing job capturing those breathtaking moments. See for yourself.
