This beautiful film was awarded the Palme D’or this year at Cannes where i was lucky enough to see it and has now been nominated at Toronto international film festival. According to the trailer’s vimeo “Waves ’98 is as much a narrative film as it is a personal visual essay dedicated to Dagher’s hometown, Beirut.
The film is an artistic exploration of the director’s current relation with Beirut projected through the story of a teenager and set in 1998. “
