What it’s really like to have an Instagram famous child, and answering the hard questions.

I’m often asked about body image and self-confidence issues in regards to my 4 year old daughter Taylen, better known as @taylensmom on Instagram. Her early rise to fame due to her strong confident photos and charismatic captures- as told by Cosmopolitan last month- “Internet fame was “never a goal” — mom just wanted to share pictures of her kids with her family in Colombia. Now, @TaylensMom (featuring Taylen’s 2-year-old sister, Aleia), has grown to 145,000 followers. The toddler’s famous kissy face has been noticed by the Kardashians, Betsey Johnson, and Jeremy Scott, all of whom are using Taylen to headline some of their campaigns.”

Dealing with daily criticism is tough as a mother or father (especially on social media)- parents can be tough on other parents- but I’m here to build her, teach her and fill her with love, understanding and support. When the time comes where she has to face criticism or bullying “something that we all face one time or another” my goal is that she will have a strong foundation to process, react and cope with any given situation as well as assess it with confidence and understanding. Most importantly, when faced in a situation like this- She can feel confident coming to me sharing her feelings, emotions and insecurities and feel safe doing so. I’m her home- I want to be her safest feeling.

In regards to body image Taylen is still young, I do however use positive language with her but as she grows older I’m fully aware that I will have to have deeper discussions about it.

Of course it all starts with being inspired and role models to look up to, but the KEY is learning their impact! I want her to look up to others, but I want her to understand her IMPACT, and how it affects her world and others. That’s my main goal/ know your impact and embrace it positively.

It’s more than just being inspired… it’s about learning “your impact” and manifest it with conviction and encouragement .
