Every year I draw Mami Tomoe from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. This is the 8th year in a row now. It was very unintentional to begin with. I just wanted to draw some fanart of my favourite character when I was 16 years old. Then I for some reason wanted to do it again the next year, and the next. So I decided I’d actually start purposefully drawing Mami each year to see my progress.
I don’t always feel like i’ve improved as an artist. But this helps bring me some confidence as I get to see where i’ve improved each year. This slow improvement can apply to so many other things in my life as well such as mindset. Which is harder to track.
