Artist Creates Incredible Galaxy Resin Paintings With Hypnotizing Depth

Toronto based artist Shehrezade M. B. creates multi-layered Resin Paintings by manipulating Resin and Pigment through various techniques, such as a blow torch, fire and flammable solvents.

Schooled in more traditional forms of art, Shehrezade found her creativity stifled in the art institutions that were meant to make her flourish. Despite receiving distinction and a scholarship in her first year at art school, she found herself resisting the traditional academic conventions of art, and decided to develop her own signature style.

Her paintings are fuelled by the conflict between chaos and control that emerges from her unconscious mind. Her latest Series, Saltanat, is inspired by the beauty of Mughal Art, Architecture and Textiles, which flourished during the Mughal Empire.
