Hey, guys! My name is Katya and i`m from Bulgaria.

I would like to share one very interesting and short story with you, which made me believe in good again.

The place is the village of Zaritsa and our hero is Safet Halil who is 53 years old man.

Every year around the end of march in Bulgaria are migrating many storks. They make their nests and live here till the middle of September. For our culture the stork is a symbol of spring and luck.

Usually we`re trying to protect this birds when we don`t bother them, for example one friend of mine didn`t renovate the roof of his house last year because two storks. The ambitious birds have been started to build their “new home” on it.

This year since beginning of march we started to expect the storks, but unfortunately the weather became awful.

This years spring became a winter disaster with 1m snow and negative temperatures witch is huge problem for storks.

They can`t fly when it`s cold and snowy, and if they manage to stay on earth, they can`t protect themselves from predators. And here is coming our hero – Safet.

He found five frozen storks near his village and decided to take them home.

“I found five frozen storks near the village road the day before yesterday, I took them home, lit a stove to warm them and fed them fish.”

A little fact here – this is the first time when we have so many desperate storks in Bulgaria.

Thanks to his wise and good decision, he started a wave of positive reactions and supporters who have started to search fields for storks who are in trouble and take them home till the weather become better and hotter.
