Seeing someone slowly lose interest in you is probably one of the worst feelings ever. The calls become fewer and farther in between, the texts get shorter. The excuses start to pile up and you’re left wondering why after everything seemed to be going right he now starts to act distant. Here are six reasons why a man loses interest once you show yours:

1. HE’S EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE

Some men will give you just enough to keep you holding on but not enough to give you a committed relationship. Emotionally unavailable men will only bring you part time happiness but disappear or become distant when things seem to be getting serious.

2. TOO MUCH TOO SOON

Don’t give too much of yourself too soon. Keep him on his tracks and interested in getting to know more about you. When you spill your feelings and declare how much you like him that gives a man the edge in thinking that since you like him that much he can come and go as he pleases.

3. YOU BEND OVER BACKWARDS FOR HIM

When you’re in love you tend to give too much of yourself even when they are giving you the minimum. You find yourself doing all the work while they just sit back and get comfortable. You start to invest your all even though its not being reciprocated. Don’t overdo it, let a man earn his position in your life, when you find yourself serving a man a full course meal while they simply serving you with crumbs they won’t bother putting forth the effort needed to make the relationship work because you are busy not only pulling your weight but his as well.

4. YOU’RE PUTTING HIM ON A PEDESTAL.

He might be the most amazing man alive but he is not perfect. Nobody is. You shouldn’t give him the impression that you are going to stay no matter what. Regardless of how much you care for him, you should expect him to admire and appreciate you as much as you do him. Appreciation shouldn’t be one sided. Just like you make him feel good about himself he should be doing the same for you. When you start to look at him like he’s close to perfection it can make you feel a bit insecure and it gives you that feeling that you are not good enough and you should reach that kind of perfection. Always remember you are more than enough and he should be doing his part in making sure he makes you feel that way.

5. YOU TRY TOO HARD

Men and women work on different levels. He might be into you but he is still not making long-term plans that include you. On the other hand, you can imagine your ‘forever’ with him. Even though we hate to admit it, women tend to get a little ahead of themselves. It’s better to let everything fall into place naturally. Build your relationship gradually. Let him know that he is important to you but don’t exaggerate with emotional displays, as this is the most common reason why men pull away early on.
