Before The Birth Of Our First Daughter, We Moved To The Countryside To Make Wooden Toys
We are a family of four and we create Friendly Toys: dad Donatas carries out all the woodworking, mom Sigita decorates the toys, and daughters Saule and Goda are the most important critics and the inspiration behind the toys. Before our first daughter was born we decided to leave the busy city life of Vilnius and moved to the place where trees touch the sky. Inspired by watching our daughter grow we began creating wooden toys for her and all the children in the world.
Ecology and safety is very important for us, therefore the materials we use are 100% natural, biodegradable and suitable for children: birch, nontoxic water-based milk paint, linen strings and raw linseed oil which has both natural scent and moisture protection quality.
We noticed that sometimes one feels lost in the chaos of plastic, bright, loud and sparkling toys, therefore we wanted to make natural, forest-inspired toys – true friends that children could keep forever.
