I danced for the Yalenka Dance Company in Prince George, British Columbia for 13 years. At that time each dancer had to provide their own costume for that region of dance. My Mother and my Grandmother spent hours upon hours needle pointing and stitching these costumes to allow me the opportunity to learn that specific region of Ukrainian dance style. Many years later I still have these beautiful costumes. They are not being used anymore and have been carefully hung in a closet. The idea came to me to do a photoshoot with my costumes. I have an incredible group of talented professions who collaborated and the backdrop of my amazing city made this shoot completely stunning. I want to share this personal project with anyone who could appreciate the craftsmanship of these costumes and the beauty of these photographs.
