On the night of June 29, temperatures in the Chinese city of Wuhan reached 35 degrees. The stadium of Central China Normal University was opened specially for the students to escape the warm night.

This practice started already in the summer of 2013. The air-conditioned stadium opens at 10 o’clock every night and hosts more than 1,000 students. Students usually roll out a plastic pad to sleep on, and they also place a row of tables as the division between men and women. It is expected that starting July 20, the Eastern part of the bedrooms in the students dorms will get new air conditioning units, until then they can stay at the stadium for the night.

Students equipped with blankets and plastic pads, waiting to check in.
