The Innocent Ones Of The Puppet Tribe.

They have that respect for their art which makes an art more respectable.So it was my short walk to a place called Kathputli colony, Delhi, India. Kath(wood) putli(doll) is a hindi name given to Puppets. I became a big center of attraction for all the people out their. Kathputli colony, a unique name itself which means colony of puppets. I was mesmerized by the innocence of the people who live in one of the most polluted area i have ever witnessed in my life but the fact was that they never run out of smile. The tribe is basically from Rajasthan, India and are making efforts to keep their art alive. The art of puppets. For them their means of livelihood comes from beating drums in parties and showing puppet dance. They are well known in all over the world but still it does not gives them sufficient fund to eradicate their poverty and live a life of normal section of society. I have always come across many people in my life whom i have photographed but for me the way they interacted with me filled my heart with respect for them.
This place is a very backward area where people live in very bad conditions. They all are an artist who are working hard to save their traditional art form. As the time was passing by i could feel more fear in their eyes as for them a day meal is hard to earn. They know that their artform is at a verge to extinct but they don’t loose hope and are continuing to survive it. A place where i found real love towards their art. being an artist anyone could realize the importance of carrying on their work. It could be somehow very related to photography. A new generation is also coming forward to save their ancestors pride. For them they have a common rule of life that is to carry forward what their parents gave them i,e. their art. Their work has to be respected for we as an artist knows the real value of what an art has in our hearts. Many artist are still like them at an verge of loosing their art. An artist is a true artist when he not only carry his artform but also contribute to another’s art to help it survive.
