The Savannah .GIF Festival is taking looping animation submissions from all over the globe and editing them into five, 15-minute final cuts (75 min total) of five categories– Funny, Creepy, Trippy, Weird, and Ambient. On the evening of January 24th we’re premiering the .GIFs at the Telfair Museums’ Jepson Center for the Arts, set to live dj performances of scores created for the event by local music producers Garrett Kemp, Ross Fish, and Chris Glass. The event will be broadcast live, available for stream on ArtRiseSavannah.org, GIPHY, and YouTube for the world to tune in and watch. During the event there will be a live polling online determining the best .GIF in each category. The winner of each best-in-category poll will receive our coveted award, the Golden Floppy!

We’re still accepting .GIF submissions until the 17th and it’s totally free to enter! You can submit your .GIFs at savgiffest.tumblr.com, which is also where you can find a full list of submission rules and see samples of .GIFs submitted by other animators involved in the festival. Join the likes of animators like Dax Norman, Ashlynn Antsee, MiRon, Matt Semke, Sarah Mae Schmidt, Christian Villacanas, etc., with your .GIF animation submissions. We’re always excited to see the crazy stuff you all come up with!
