The Alice Tarot: A Curious Deck Of Cards That Took Us 5 Years To Make
In 2009, my partner and I decided it was time to begin work on an Alice Tarot. We thought it would take us about a year to complete. In the end, it took five!
Costumes and props involved everything from old Bohemian embroidery to a Victorian pottery jug with a hare on it. Not to mention cakes… and more cakes.
After more than five years, we finished in last autumn, just in time for the 150th anniversary of the first publication of Alice in Wonderland in 2015.
A user recently said that she was “amazed at how ferociously humorous and sometimes just ferocious the deck can be”. As Alice said, “Curiouser and curiouser!”
