Artist Turns Stretch Marks And Other Body “Flaws” Into Stunning Art, But Not Everyone Finds It Beautiful
Stretch marks, scars, and even menstruation are all things women are routinely told to hide, but one Barcelona-based artist is turning these supposed flaws into beautiful new ways to appreciate the female body.
21-year-old Cinta Tort Cartró, who goes by the pen name Zinteta on social media, does it all with rainbow paint and glitter. Her colourful depictions of stretch marks, period blood, and the female anatomy aim to foster self-love in the hearts of girls who may feel ashamed of their bodies. Cartró’s creative awakening was inspired by her own difficult path to self-love, which makes the message of her work all the more powerful.
“Stretch marks are part of our essence, our moments, our lives, our stories and us,” Cartró writes on Instagram. “To accept all this is to accept your roots, your history, everything in it and, after all, accept yourself.”

Load More Replies...Don't like period stuff personally. Also don't like people attempting to make me feel guilty about not liking period stuff, or that society as a whole has conditioned me to not like period stuff like I'm some gullible sheep and everyone else is more 'woke' than me. Let me take credit for coming to the personal conclusion that periods are gross and I don't like them. Also Jesus dude if your periods are that explosive, I think medical assistance may be in order!
As a nurse, and someone who has the problem....do you have any how many women suffer from heavy periods. If you don't, lucky you. I actually have severe anemia now due to it. The doctors are pushing me to have a hysterectomy. So, am I supposed to feel disgusted with myself or something due to this condition. Should I feel "unclean? Hate to break it to you, but you are kind of sheeplike or behind the times. Maybe you should have been born when they banished women into the woods during their period. Really hope you don't have children to teach this attitude to. Enough males are still squeamish that they can't even purchase period supplies for their significant other.

I feel like people need to understand that not every part of you has to be perfect. I have stretch marks too, and are they beautiful? Nah. Does that mean that the whole of me isn't beautiful? Nah.
I've had stretch marks since early puberty - breasts and hips and legs - and never got the big deal tbh. I don't feel less pretty, or less attractive. The only one who ever made a comment was some b****y girl whose opinion I didn't hold in particular high regard. The tattoos would make them stand out more, though they are colourful and look kinda cool, but it's not for me! The period stuff... I dunno, just looks like coloured underwear to me. I've seen weirder s**t.
I would like to see a guy with strechmarks or cellulite to (because man can have them to)
Agreed. My brother went through a massive upward (stretch marks aren't limited to weight loss or gain don't forget) growth spurt when he was younger and still has a lot of horizontal stretch marks on his back. He was very self conscious about them while they were still red, as they were big and deep. He looked like he had been 'striped' (beaten with an edged weapon) or whipped. I don't think male stretch marks are given enough of a spotlight or talked about in the main stream.
Load More Replies...Love the colors! I remember my first day in middle school, I had my period and unfortunately it leaked. I was so embarrassed coz everyone is a new face, I don't know most of them. I was scared to think that they would always remember me in that situation. ;(
I think some of you are completely missing the point of the artist. It's art people..it's mean't to stimulate conversation and bring up emotions...even the uncomfortable ones.
