But sometimes shadows get tired of living in, well, our shadows, and so they decide to forge their own identity by taking on secret lives of their own. Check out the list below to see what we mean. This is a very cleverly crafted commercial of the adhesive company. Considering the actual distance between the guy and the girl and the distance between their shadows, the light source should be somewhere right behind the girl but considering the shadow of the dog and the bicycle, the light source seems to be much to the farther right. Good visual nevertheless :)

That is a reflection from outside...happens in my window some times.You can watch the cars go up and down the street somehow reflected onto ceiling through the small gap at the top of the closed curtin.Never understand how but it is facinating to watch.

You really have to unfocus your eyes to see it. Part of the face is not in shadow, so the light part becomes the right side of the face. The edges of the shadow falls at the midline of the face. It's rather uncanny when you see it.

Don't look at the edges of the shadow to form a profile or anything... the white of the garage door is his face in highlight, the shadows of the tree form the shadow side of his face.... you can see his eye on the upper right , then follow the whole thing down... looks like he has a cleft chin.

No. 20 is not a shadow - it's a projection of what's actually outside. It's called the camera obscura effect. If the cars outside were more brightly coloured you would be able to see the colours too. So cool, isn't it?
