Studio Soufflé had the pleasure to work on a fantastic project called the Pop Up Salon. Collaborating with a group of female architects in Malaysia we developed an inflatable structure that can easily, quickly and efficiently be set up to provide a private space for homeless women in Kuala Lumpur to have their hair cut.

We wanted to make the space welcoming and comfortable and for the women to feel like they were being treated with care. We choose fun bright colours and design for the pod, incorporating special elements such as built in LED spotlights and cooling ventilation ports to help the stylist work.

Here is a quick video that provides a glimpse into a typical night for the Pop Up Crew and their great work providing free haircuts for the homeless on the streets of Kuala Lumpur with the inflatable Pop Up Salon by Studio Soufflé, sponsored by Architects for the Homeless.
