Academically I have studied architecture, however I have always had a passion for creating artwork. For me, art is my getaway – it’s where I can express myself freely where words otherwise may fail to. It’s a release and a fusion of emotions. Some may appreciate art for its aesthetic value, but there is a lot more thought and soul that goes into it. I like to challenge myself in trying different forms of art, not just limiting to one style or medium. The most important skill required in art is soul – I find that my best art is achieved when I ‘feel’ the art. Not just draw it for the sake of drawing. The most beautiful thing about art is that it is a universal language and has the ability to bring people together.
This album is a collection of my charcoal portraits exhibiting revolutionaries around the world. A time where I wanted to put energy into creating art works, these inspirational figures paved the way to my drawings. After completing the drawings, I used Photoshop to enhance the visual experience of them by adding key quotes from each of these revolutionary figures.
