If you live in LA and you're struggling to get a reservation at some of the best restaurants in town, it's probably because of Popeye the dog. Because while the cute little canine was once a starving stray who used to eat whatever he could find, now the fluffy foodie dines on the best food in town along with his owner Ivy Diep.
"I found him as a stray," Ivy told Bored Panda. "He was such a mess - super skinny, heavily matted, dirty." Ivy wasn't looking for another dog at that time as she already had a full-house, but no one wanted Popeye so she decided to keep him. "It wasn't long before he made himself at home at my place with my other dogs. And of course, my husband and I fell in love [with him].
"One of my friends, Jen, suggested that I create an Instagram account for Popeye because he was cute. Jen and I liked to go on what we call 'Instagram dates' and take pics of our food. I'd bring Popeye any time I can, and we realized he was really good around food. He doesn't lunge for food or really even care for it. He just liked to be out. He'll get nibbles of anything that's safe for him. I also carry a bag of treats for him, in case there's nothing he can have."
Popeye now has over 108k followers on Instagram, so if you can't get a reservation then at least you can check out his pictures to see what you're missing!

For those who don't understand, she loves to instagram her food. The food is for her, not the dog. She just takes a treat for the dog. I think it's cute :)
Thank you Ivy for saving Popeye & sharing your sweet rescued baby with us!
Your little Yorkie looks exactly like my Yorkie who passed away 2 years ago. We were soul mates. I melted every time I looked at that beautiful face and enjoyed every minute I had with him. I looked at your photos with a smile, albeit a sad smile, and am so happy Popeye is having a good life after suffering so much. I can't imagine how he got to be a stray. You are both very lucky to have each other.
I just went to Instagram and probably gained 700 pounds just from looking at all that food.
Adorable! Love him. I can't believe he was homeless. How could anyone abandon such a adorable little cutie pie. It's so cute the way he poses by your food with the most adorable outfit on. He must have gotten lots of treats for this picture. :) xo
http://plancheck.com/ Looks like they're only in Cali.
Load More Replies...So adorable! And I see Popeye dines at Shake Shack..good choice :-)
- Pay attention to the dog. - But those burguers... - TO THE DOG!

Damn that looks scrumptious! The straberries and marshmallow sounds so yummy
The food or the dog? The dog is a Yorkie. Cutest and best dogs in the world.
so sad u guys talk about the dessert when u could talk about that cutie pie puppy who was rescued...i love you puppy dog, i wish you were mine
This i am going to enjoy, get the bath ready mum i gonna need one after this.
How could anyone abandon that gorgeous doggie? and the food looks amazing too 👅
It's a bread bowl. It most likely has a thick soup inside. You eat the soup, and eat the bread as it gets softened by the soup. Yummy.
Load More Replies...That is exactly what my face looks like when looking at a box of Krispy Kremes!
you can tell by his reaction what he likes and what he has doubts. lol
Ok, by now I just stopped watching the puppy :( Sorry, i'm starving.... :'(
They're not too sure. They know he's a mixed breed, but are uncertain of the mix. Some guesses include a pomapoo or a pom yorkie (source: https://www.instagram.com/p/BIY6ulpBPDB/)
Load More Replies...I bet the dog didn't know what was going to happen when he got rescued but he never gave up, and that was the work of God. AMEN
No, it was the work of DOG. Dogs actually exist, unlike god.
Load More Replies...First of all, thank you for being so kind hearted to adopt a starving mangy stray, clean him up,c are for him and and give him a loving home. Secondly, what a great idea of putting Popeye's utterly adorable personality and good looks as a muse in your photo images of great eating out experiences to share with the public. FUN!! Popeye is so darn cute. I could eat him up! Forget about he food. Leslie
Buy a ton of dog food. A bag for this little dog and many of his canine brethren that will find themselves in shelters with lengthy waits to be adopted (if ever), rather than wasting money on such frivolities as this.
Lol! The picture of him in the coffee is adorable.
Load More Replies...Not before me! I don't know her and already love her!
Load More Replies...So sweet! <333 awwww he got breakfast in bed. So well taken care of. Love it :)
I love that face. When my puppy makes that face, all is right in the world.
He looks sad because the best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill.
Are you SURE this is a real dog and not a stuffed animal? No dog is THIS cute! (sorry Lucy) You know, I love my 10 year old golden retriever more than anything in the world but I don't think even she could be that cute. She would be good and not eat the food, but she would be smelling everything near her the entire time. This dog could make a fortune doing commercials and photoshoots. A calendar needs to be done for 2017 with these pictures. I'm SURE it would sell. What I REALLY want to know is WHO eats all this food? I don't eat that much in a week.
The pictures of your dog are lovely & cute, you also eat a variety of tasty looking food, must be great to be able to do.
this is the cutest little dog how could someone not love him...so glad you found him and he is enjoying life!!! Problem now I have to get something to eat... ;-)
Don't know if real r fake, but who would feed a dog all that stuff, that would be killing the dog with all that people food
if you look at the first post under this series, one commenter states that none of the food is for the dog...its for the lady taking the pictures.
Load More Replies...Worse, this dog dresses better than me in any outfit... +_+
Load More Replies...As some other people have pointed out in the comments for individual photos, Popeye doesn't actually get all of this food. He gets a tiny bit of the food that's safe for him to consume (like chicken.). His owners eat the rest. They also bring dry dog food/treats to give him throughout the meal. (source: https://www.instagram.com/p/BIY6ulpBPDB/)
I can imagine that... However... the food looks so good... poor dog.. he believes is for him, then they just eat all it in front of him!! hahah though life little fella! :D
Load More Replies...I'd be a bit more concerned he seems to live in a bag. I'm not a big fan or small dogs being carried around in bags. Lovely idea though to treat a dog who's had a hard life.
Living in a bag? Um.. have you ever tried to walk a tiny dog in a city? Or in the freezing cold? They need to be carried and a special doggy tote is great for them so they dont get soaking feet on their special dinner date or get bashed around by ppl walking by him.
Load More Replies...This person took in a homeless, starving dog. She takes pictures of the dog when she goes out to eat. Can she rescue each and every stray animal, or feed every homeless person? No. But she did make a difference in one creature's life. So celebrate that, instead of adding to the misery in the world with snipy, butthurt comments.
Wish I had the restaurants in my area. Also, does she call it a doggie-bag or just a bag when she takes home the leftovers.
This dog is incredibly photogenic. Just wish there were titles to some of the food, as a fat kid, I need to know what she's eating... for reasons.
