VERY long story short… we needed an epic and colorful photo for our living room wall so after a few weeks of brainstorming we decided that it doesn’t get any more colorful than with color powder!
Within a few minutes of searching for it online, we found just the right color pack for our project. Two days later a fun package arrived at the front stoop. Ah, happy day – all the color powders had arrived. Now what? I quickly realized that Molly and I wouldn’t be able to make it happen by ourselves and we needed at least one more person to help us with the photo shoot. Our amazing friend “volunteered” to help us.
Last thursday was the day! Jen, our bestie, came over around 7PM to be our lead color manager. Molly was in panic mode searching for the right pair of shorts to wear, in case they were to get stained or ruined (very important detail as you see below). I was still trying to figure out the logistics of what was about to happen.
The shoot wasn’t pretty! :) We set up a little vignette in our backyard with big studio lights that turned into a major color mess within just a few minutes of me shooting (grass was green, then blue, then pink). 15 minutes, 2 dogs, 3 neighbors and 2 kids running around later, we were in full swing photographing our color experience!
Overall, thanks to our dear friend and the ever so handy amazon prime, our color photo session happened just a few days after we decided to do it. Here are a few of our favorite shots. One of them will be turned into a giant piece of artwork in our living room – but more on that later. I promise.
