Mestia is a highland townlet in the northwest region of the Republic of Georgia called Svaneti. It has an elevation of 1,500 metres (4,921 feet) in the Caucasus Mountain. This winter I took my old film camera, loaded with expired film and traveled there. I used Film Camera as a time machine, to give pictures more old and corresponding atmosphere. You can see results down below.

We left the city Tbilisi with the car. Weather was more then satisfying!
But on the half way, it got really snowy. Although it was more than beautiful it took us more than 18 hours to get there.
But we reached the city and it was absolute time travel! Everything looks so old school here like Steve jobs and Google never existed.
Starting with the architectural style and buildings inside the city… (actually, this picture was taken using my DSLR cam)
Ending with old transporting system,
You can see old soviet cars all around the city
Outside the city, there is a bunch of left houses and buildings.
For instance, this one was considered as a marketplace 10 or so years ago.
And this is still working second-hand clothing shop.
This was supposed to be some kind of storage for woods.
But as you can see, people still enjoy living there. Communications are real and joyful
This is the lovely guy we met in the city centre. Fortunately somebody took him and I hope they have good friendship now.
Hey! This is me… Sorry for jumping out, I just wanted to say Hi! ^^
As I already mentioned architectural style is pretty interesting here
This is old Svanetian building called “Svanetian Tower”
You can see quite a lot of them outside the city. They were used to save citizens from enemy and avalanche snow-slip.
And the landscape is really beautiful. Once you get there, you will forever love that place!
So next time when you decide to travel, you can time travel to frozen city of Mestia in Georgia.
