Luke Kavanagh always thought his gorgeous Afghan hound Tea was ‘far too pretty to keep at home’. He reasoned her beauty, those black long locks, should be appreciated. But even he was a bit surprised when Tea’s picture he posted on social media was shared 1 million times… “I guess people were mostly drawn to [the photo] because of her silky coat coupled with that dignified look that Tea has, but that’s just her being her”, Kavanagh told NewsLocal.
After Tea became an Instagram sensation, Kavanagh was approached by a dog food brand Royal Canin who asked if she would be their ‘spokesdog’. She also booked herself a gig in an ad campaign for Harriot and Hounds dog perfume. ”I am seriously blown away by how far this one photo has gone and the subsequent stories on Tea,” Kavanagh told Bored Panda.
“Even our weekend walks draw a crowd. She pretends she doesn’t need the attention, but she definitely loves it, just like any supermodel.” But other than a few jobs here and there, Kavanagh says Tea is already in retirement.
Nowadays the father-of-two is focused on his two Staffordshire terriers, as the maintenance of their short hair is way lower, taking less time to prepare for dog shows.
Of course, Tea is still her owner’s sweetheart. ”I have such a special bond with Tea & we have shared a lifetime of wonderful moments together.”

The dog IS beautiful. But I dislike when they say "worlds prettiest" or "worlds - - - - -" because that title doesn't belong to ANY ONE thing. In this case, there are MANY beautiful dogs out there, not just this one.

More superlatives...Tea looks stunning, but for a typical dog owner his or her four-legged furry wagging-machine is the most beautiful one, and I think that is ok. I like articles much more that say "The incredibly beautiful" than "The most".

All dogs are beautiful but it´s a huge crime to breed. All the old, sick and not so easy dogs get killed because people still buy dogs instead of adopting them even tho buying is a shame and not an option.

So what? Your idea is to stop certain dogs from reproducing until all the mutts are adopted? Then what, you'll come back to cry because certain races are disappearing?

She is gorgeous. We had an Afghan Hound. She was very special to. She had an air of royalty about her too, but more a happy and playful and happy side. She was also her happiest when she was shaved. (Not real shot, aground 2"). Always a puppy.

I have seen a lot of Afghan Hound but this one really very special. It's long and silky hair is really impressive. She deserves to become a model in a ads of shampoo and conditioner. She has an exceptional look and that's why she became such a sensation on instagram. I think she is the prettiest dog in the world.
