My name is Paul Burton. I’m a Seattle-based illustrator and writer. My latest project, “E is for Endangered” represents grit and beauty all rolled up into one. It’s hard work and eloquence. It’s a softness for the organisms at our mercy, and a strength to do something to make it better.
My passion for wildlife conservation has led to the creation of an educational coloring book that will provide a fun and creative way for you and your children or friends to spend time together coloring while giving you the tools to learn about a handful of amazing and beautiful creatures. Each letter in the alphabet will include a selection of endangered, critically endangered, and vulnerable species denoted by their “common” names. This fantastic ABC coloring book will feature 124 of the more than 5000 animal species listed on the IUCN Red List of threatened wildlife worldwide. Each intricately drawn illustration will take me up to 70 hours to complete – 1200 hours to complete 26 letters.
I’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to help bring this project to life. Time is running out to make this incredible project a reality.
