After a very dismal and lacklustre start to winter, I had pretty much given up hope that I would be able to capture any meaningful snow and ice images before spring arrived. As luck would have it, we received a quick burst of some much needed arctic air a few weeks ago, which in turn created some wonderful ice formations along the northern shores of Lake Erie, Ontario, Canada.

I made three trips to the icy shores over the course of a one week period in late February. I was utterly amazed at how different the landscape looked from one day to the next. I wish the cold weather had held on a little while longer, but I am grateful that I was able to create some memorable artwork in the short time that I was given.
