The thing I like the most about being a photographer is the ability to grasp what is impermanent. Apart from being a portrait photographer, today I would like to present you something that I have been working on for the past 2 years.

Before I started photography, I was astonished by postmodern art, Zdzisław Beksiński’s surreal paintings and a touch of sadness that is present in songs of my favorite band – Katatonia. Their art and music live trough the series.

Dealing with depression in 2013 I wanted to find an escape, a creative way of letting the sadness go. Photography seemed to me like a fine medium for it and that’s how story of friendship and healing between me and my camera began.

For camera nerds who wonder how it’s done, I am using a technique of my own that mimics the double exposure effect

Each photo in the series takes about week or two to find the elements and combine them into final image

Belgrade – city where I was born was bombed by NATO Forces in 1999. This photo I did as a tribute to 3000 people who lost their lives during these horrible events
