My new series of suspended paper cuts are all cut from a single piece of paper before being painstakingly stitched and then suspended within their respective frames. Inspired by the multiple layers within Fairytale narratives and the natural world, in the last 4 years I have embraced a life-long obsession with intricate detail and switched from working mainly with paint and canvas, to creating delicate paper cut pieces that are intriguing with a sense of the mystical woven in.

Each piece represents hours of intricate work, starting out with a lot of detailed sketching to ensure each element is perfectly balanced before transferring to paper for cutting, stitching and finally suspending. I absolutely love the challenge of working with an often undervalued medium and making it into something surprising.
