The Chameleon panther (Furcifer pardalis) is a saurian native of Madagascar, the family of Chamaeleonidae, found in Reunion island under the name of Put to sleep. Because of the exotic origin it has a status of protected sort.

It is a member of the biggest existing chameleons. Its size can reach 55 cm (tail included) for the male and 35 cms for the female. Females live approximately 3 years, males can survive 5 years. This kind has diverse coloring. Females have rather mat tints, while males have very spectacular colors.
